Job description
- Work with Global Product Managers and influence product specifications including the scope of application, certification, international design standards, target product cost, configuration, etc.
- Provide Technology Leadership to all ToV design projects executed from ISVTechCoE during all phases of product development including Competitive benchmarking, Concept design & Verification using CAD, hand calculation and/or FEA/CFD, Validation of design using prototyping & testing, Final design with the release of drawings, BoMs, specifications, etc., Product Certification, Supplier development for components, Production validation and sign off.
- Provide People Leadership by attracting, developing & retaining top talents through suitable organization structure, performance culture, open & candid communication in partnership with HR.
- Drive Engineering Process Rigor using a systematic approach, data-driven decisions, design reviews, project metrics (Lead time, FPY, Cost, etc) & continuous improvement in alignment with Emerson stage-gate NPD process.
- Work with Global Program Manager and manage engineering deliverables for all projects through control of scope, resource, schedule, risk, quality & cost, and detailed documentation.
- Provide engineering leadership for India Order engineering team and Operation team on ToV design activities including part/BoM, GAD & manufacturing drawings for ETO projects.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in mechanical design engineering from reputed institutes (IITs/IISc, NITs, etc – preferred) with more than 17 Years of experience.
- DFSS/PMP Certification is an added advantage.
- Strong technical skills involving mechanical design fundamentals, ToV valve domain experience, and engineering tools like CAD, CAE, etc.
- Exceptional engineering process skills involving ECM, NPD, DFSS, PLM, etc.
- Strong people management skills – hiring, development, performance & retention.
- Project management skills involving scoping, work break down, estimation, resourcing, scheduling, risk management, etc.
