- Our Power Systems business is a world-leader in large reciprocating engines, propulsion and distributed energy systems. We’re headquartered in Friedrichshafen in Southern Germany and employ around 11,000 people. Our product portfolio includes; MTU brand high-speed engines and propulsion systems; MTU Onsite Energy; Bergen Engines and L’Orange.
Key Accountability:
- Analyze the engineering changes and taking key decisions considering cost, time, and feasibility of the change.
- Considering the complete product life cycle, analyze and trigger the requited actions for localization considering design, quality and testing and production.
- Work closely with quality, production, testing and engineering team for making the decisions required for adopting the change as per scope of application team.
- Work closely with engineering team and component experts to find out solution on critical problems found during engine validation.
- Support engineering team to implement improvement measures at component level at supplier end.
- Preparation to give approval for production release.
- Investigation and analysis of field failures on engines and assemblies.
- Ability to use various problem-solving techniques and QM methods, suggest corrective actions and documentation of the corrective measures.
- Work closely in cross functional teams efficiently.
- Create internal process documents for the new processes based on the requirements.
- Work in agile teams with good collaboration.
Qualification & Experience:
- BE / BTech in mechanical engineering (minimum)
- Minimum 12- 15 years of hands on experience in diesel engines and different applications.
- Should have worked closely with cross function departments- design, testing, production, quality.
- Expertise in inspection methodologies and instruments used to inspect various engine components
- Knowledge in diesel engine tribology
- Experience of complete life cycle of the product/ component.
- High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with cross functional teams
- Exposure to engine R&E and production – assembly and testing process
- Knowledge of quality, production processes.
- Ability to professionally interact, work and coordinate with cross functional local and global teams, local and global manufacturers
- German language is an added advantage.
- Flexible to travel for work occasionally to different sites
