Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Commodity: TRIMS, Paint

• Participation and Coordination of concern resolution with Field, User plant, and in-house for proprietary critical parts.
• Basic knowledge of commodity handled.
• Troubleshooting of proprietary parts and independently drive action at supplier end.
• Ensure that the lessons learned from product families are shared with the platform team (COE, CDMM, etc.) for new product development as input for the prevention of repeated known issues.
• Provide support and involvement in new product development improvements through early involvement in product development Process and completion of joint PPAP with CDMM.
• Drive collaboration with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and deploy processes and tools.
• Monitor supplier performance measurement, supplier audits and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), etc.
• Develop and ensure implementation of process norms for management of suppliers.
• Verification of products and services from the suppliers.Evaluation of the performance of suppliers and monitor the improvement plans.
• Enhance technical capabilities of vendors through systems and knowledge upgradations.
• Review, Analyze and implement results of quality audits at the supplier end

Preferred Industries – Automotive Industry

Education Qualification

• Bachelor of Engineering; Bachelors of Technology; Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical; Bachelors of Technology in Mechanical

General Experience

• BE/B tech (Mech) 4 to 7 years

Job description

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1. Vehicle dynamics testing – Brake, Suspension, Drivetrain performance, etc.
2. DVP Planning & execution of as per vehicle specifications and project plan
3. Instrumented Vehicle testing for acquiring various parameters like padel efforts, speed, pressure, etc
4. Coordination with support function & Module leads for the execution of testing
5. Vehicle/part Failure analysis by using 8 D problem-solving approach
6. Simulate customer end failure & field failure in testing
7. Prepare/ Verify DVP / DFMEA/ Test reports as per project requirement.
8. Create Test reports / manage Test data/ Test procedures / SOP.
9. Team management to meet desired results and targets.
10. Budget preparation for Projects/ Capital equipment requirements

Functional Competencies

1. Vehicle level dynamics testing for Brake, suspension, ride & Handling, Energy consumptions, Range, etc.
2. Vehicle Performance Testing (Acceleration, Max speed, Gradiability, etc )
3. Working knowledge about DVP/DFMEA/APQP etc.
4. Functional & Technical knowledge about
   • Basic knowledge of Automotive Engg Systems.
   • Failure analysis in Passenger car vehicle
   • Wear & tear measurements of brakes, tires, etc
   • Shop floor management (Technician & driver management)
   • Knowledge on electric vehicles drive train & 3 wheelers, Passenger car vehicle suspension, brakes & other aggregates
5. Functional & Hands knowledge on Vehicle Test Instrumentation, data loggers, sensors, etc.
6. Test data analysis & reporting

Experience

• BE with 8-12 Year experience with relevant background

Industry Preferred – Automotive OEM / Tier 1 supplier

Qualifications

• BE or Mtech/ME (Mechanical / Automobile/ Mechatronics engineering )
