Job description
Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
- Identify internal & external customer needs and take concrete steps to address these needs at the supplier end.
- Lead & Monitor Supplier Process audits, Improvements & VPPAP of Sheet Metal commodity processes.
- Lead the Improvement of Quality Performance of assigned Suppliers & Ensure Zero defect Supplies by suggesting process improvements.
- Monitor Supplier Performance against DOL, GR, LR, and field Quality Indicators & ensure continuous improvement in Supplier Quality.
- Plan & Conduct periodic supplier audits & conduct Product, Process, and systems audit to ensure improvement in Quality Indicators
- Own the improvement in Sheet Metal commodity parts with the use of statistical tools and drive continual PPM Reduction.
- Analyze the issues reported by the internal customers as well as field issues and initiate concrete actions at the supplier end.
- Upgrade Supplier Capabilities through Formal Training.
- Identify the need for corrective action by suppliers for any deviations from established standards.
- Provide technical support to vendors to sustain and continuously improve the quality of components supplied as well as establish process stability/capability.
- Enable suppliers to achieve Quality Management Systems to ISO/TS accreditation
Preferred Industries – Automobile
Education Qualification
- Bachelor of Engineering; Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical; Bachelor of Engineering in Automobile
General Experience
- 4-6 years in Automobile working in Supplier Quality Assurance
Critical Experience
- Strong technical knowledge – Sheetmetal & Machining Processes, Surface Preparation Processes (Priming, Painting, Plating, etc. )
- Knowledge of statistical tools & techniques / Statistical approach
- Sound knowledge of metallurgy & Welding Process
- Hands-on experience in PPAP and Structured Problem-solving techniques
