Job description

• Developing packaging solutions in a collaborative effort within the Packaging Engineering team and the partner teams to ensure parts are delivered to their customers at other facilities, dealers. As a Packaging Engineer, Candidate will design and develop cost effective returnable and expendable packaging for individual piece parts and bulk shipping
• Develop packaging solutions to protect finished painted/casting/machining/sheet metal components
• Develop, communicate and maintain supplier packaging requirements. Lead initiatives and collaborations with suppliers and facilities changing packaging to improve efficiency within receiving, warehousing, and/or line-side delivery.
• Perform cost analysis on current packaging processes and recommend packaging solution changes
• Establish packaging and processing specifications for new product introductions
• Coordinate with onsite packaging team for operation/delivery/storage and ergonomic considerations
• Validate/simulate loading quantities in the package and control the packaging cost in the reasonable level for expendable packaging
• Resolve safety and / or quality issues caused by current packaging
• Develop, communicate and maintain supplier packaging requirements, and training skills
• Resolve issues reported by customers and process partners
• Joint Process Improvement with packaging vendors and purchasing
• Create packaging concepts using 3D modeling software (i.e. Pro-E)
• Familiar with expendable packaging materials cost level in the market
• Go See Act on the floor to support operations when required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (i.e. Packaging, Logistic, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering)
• Extensive experience in ProE/Creo & Creo simulate
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in packaging design
• Good oral English skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Interpersonal, teamwork, organization and communication skills
• Value behavior of Integrity, Teamwork
• Knowledge in Ansys or equivalent is a plus
