Job Title– Senior Executive – Plant Engineering (Mechanical)

Location– Visakhapatnam Plant

Qualifications required for the role:


  • B. Tech / B.E – (Mechanical)


  • B. Tech/ B.E – (Mechanical)

Total years of experience: 3-5 years


  • Should have at least 3-5 years of Industrial experience of Maintenance/Projects for Paint / Chemical / Pharma / Paper / Steel industries.


  • Maintenance and CAPEX

Job Purpose:

  • Implement a plan for Preventive Maintenance and execute it, ensuring that the Equipments are maintained at best efficiency and troubleshooting the problems reported in operation and control.
  • Complying the statutory requirement with respect to Factories Act.
  • The Position is also responsible to implement capex in the plant as part of up gradation and productivity improvements.
  • The Position is also responsible to adhere and comply to all the requirement as mentioned in the Asian Paints Manual.
  • The Position is also responsible to maintain & upkeep of Utilities
  • Analyze & Implant Breakdown Reduction Projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Breakdown Maintenance, to reduce breakdown and to increase availability
    • Review of the maintenance schedule
    • Identify the root cause of failure
    • Implementation of suitable corrective action and preventive action
    • Review of the engineering personnel day to day activity.
    • Coordinating with the cross functional team to achieve day’s target.
    • Regular interaction with the team member to check compliance
    • Release of Annual maintenance contract to maintain the equipment, review of AMC vendor.
  • ISO 9000, 14000, and BSC safety system
    • Training to the engineering personnel
    • Implementation of the maintenance manual at shop floor
    • Check on the process to ensure no deviations.
    • Self- assessment of the process to be done to ensure compliance.
    • Update of manual with best practice by change management processes.
    • Regular check to ensure compliance
  • Critical Spare Management.
    • Interacting with vendors for the spares, negotiation and another technical discussion.
    • Vendor evaluation and vendor selection
    • Review and approve minimum inventory of critical spares.
  • Contractor management
    • Cost control and manpower control in terms of number of persons coming in the plant.
    • Ensuring the statutory compliance by the contractor.
  • Capex implementation
    • Proposing the capex budget along with the user department after making a plan
    • Making budgetary proposal
    • Planning and execution of the capex
    • Review the progress of the capex projects
    • Cost control
    • Reporting the compliance as per plan
  • Cost monitoring
    • Review of the spend against budget
    • Reporting the compliance and in case of any overshoot, Mitigation to be planned.
  • Networking / Liasioning and statutory compliance w.r.t Factories Act.
    • Review of the schedule
    • Maintaining the certificates as required by the statutory authority
    • Reporting deviations if any and plan for mitigation of the risk.

  • 100% Compliance to Preventive and Predictive Maintenance schedules.
  • 100% adherence to Annual maintenance schedule for various types of equipment
  • 100% adherence to time schedule for execution of the assigned project.
  • 100% Compliance with engineering standards, Statutory requirements, APL quality & EHS system requirements.
