Job description
- Metrics: Feeding back on lessons learned and best practices from their own unit and across ABB to management and employees. Reporting on Health, Safety and Environment performance and progress on implementation of ABB group sustainability objectives and key performance indicators to ABB group, as required.
- Regulatory compliance: Implementing policies and standards. Ensuring the area of responsibility is audited according to the program for audit. Assisting line managers and supervisors in understanding obligations. Supporting compliance with human rights, security, and crisis management processes.
- Risk management: Facilitating Health, Safety, and Environment risks assessment by line management involving shop floor employees, i.e. those directly concerned by the hazards, and ensures all processes are implemented.
- Continuous improvement: Driving behavioral change through implementing group-wide performance improvement programs and practices locally to ensure an exemplary health and safety culture as well as a strong focus on the environment throughout the respective organization.
- Communication and engagement: Engaging external (e.g. customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders) and internal stakeholders in order to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment on ABB’s Health, Safety, and Environment efforts and performance and obtain objective feedback.
- Budget: Participating in defining the annual budget for area of responsibility and is accountable for managing performance against agreed financial targets and constraints.
- Project management: Contributing, planning, and executing Health or Safety or Environment performance and corporate responsibility related projects. Developing and reports on project objectives. Managing project resources such as manpower, financials, and other relevant factors.
- People leadership and development: Ensuring that the area of responsibility is appropriately organized, staffed, skilled, and directed. Guiding, motivating, and developing direct or indirect subordinates within HR policies.

Qualifications
- B.E./ B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical or equivalent.
- Required 12-20 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environment.
- Required Nebosh certified.
- Required experience in handling big contracts, electrical safety & contractor management.
- Required strong leadership and ability to handle 300+ employees.
- Required experience to advise or guide business on safety front.
