Position – Manager – Technical Services & Technical Goods Procurement

Job description
- Provide a systematic approach to cost savings in technical services and continuously improve respective strategies. Exposure in Technical Goods will be an added advantage.
- Benchmark TS costs between production sites as well as the market .
- Manage technical service ARCs, AMCs contracts with service providers.
- Lead negotiations for services procurement. Represent GPL in critical negotiations. Steer, guide and train site TG/TS procurement team on technical aspects, ideas/methods of internal costing, estimation enabling them to learn and assist in services procurement/delivery
- Provide procurement management to special projects like expansions, global outsourcing, investment projects feasibility studies, etc.
- Providing execution/implementation support to Projects and playing a key role in coordination between Contractors / Engineering Consultants / Supplier / Technical departments for smooth execution of Project
- Bring Technical know-how and experience in play for technical services. Develop alternate vendors to enhance competition and reduce dependency / single vendor situations thereby reducing costs and minimizing risks.
- Contractor Safety Management (CSM) – Improve the CSM standards, Managing CSM.
- Compliance & Audits for Procurement

Qualifications
- B.E. Mechanical/Electrical/Production/Civil Engineering with approx. 10 yrs experience with PRO experience of > 7 years specific Education
- > 10 years
- Needs to have excellent Technical know-how skills./ Technical Services.
- Business acumen with responsibility, independence, creativity, flexibility, good communication, fast action & teamwork.
- Needs to be a good communicator as the role involves extensive communication with internal and external customers/vendors
- Knowledge of corporate/procurement system and processes. IT familiarity is a must ( Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office must).
