We are looking for an Electromechanical Design engineer, to join a team of awesome girls and guys working with the high voltage electrical distribution concepts for our Electromobility solutions.
What do we do?
Volvo Group Trucks Technology – Powertrain Engineering is the global, strategic center for powertrain development within the Volvo Group. Electromobility is one of the main development areas within Volvo Group and was created to be in the forefront of environmental friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.
The High Voltage Electrical Distribution and Charging Systems team is dedicated to provide world class solutions for transferring energy from the grid to the vehicle, delivering end customer value for Volvo business units such as trucks, buses, construction equipment and marine applications. What will you do?
You will work with designing electromechanical products from the early phases of product development to industrialization. The aim is to meet demands on higher current levels and lower total cost of ownership for the Electromobility products and in the meantime secure high quality. In your assignment, you will use CAD (Creo) to design electromobility products and you will write technical requirements for the products. As a responsible designer, you will coordinate and lead cross-functional design reviews within Volvo. In your team, there will be electrical power electronics, software, and system engineers working closely together in an agile setup. In your role, you will also be in contact with Purchasing, Aftermarket, and Operations.
Typical tasks:
- Perform electromechanical design work
- Coordinate cross-functional design reviews within Volvo
- Refine and release specifications and give feedback on specifications written by others.
- Drive the release process within Volvo.
- Support functional verification and fault tracing in vehicles as well as in rigs and lab environment.

Prioritized experience
- Good skills in CAD Creo. Experience in other CAD systems will be considered as well.
- Traction voltage products development
- Automotive development
- Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written
- Strong team player and ability to focus on independent tasks
Relevant experience
- Volvo Group PD systems and process
- HV Electrical distribution design
- Electrical vehicle development
