Job description

Note:This position is based out of Khopoli, Maharashtra but the incumbent will be placed in partner location in Netherlands for 2 years

Main Purpose of the Job :

The key responsibility of this role will be to carry out manufacturing process modelling and control to produce Sandwich panels with specialised cores like Aluminium Honeycomb, cork, etc as per the requirement of panels for the transportation segment.

Job responsibilities :

1. Design & Engineering:
   a) Study production requirements of sandwich panels and design process flow and machinery accordingly,
   b) Develop and test effective automated and manual systems
   c) Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed
2. Operations Support:
   a) Analysis of 3D part models and prepare manufacturing drawings for production,
   b) Engineering support to operations and quality team to manufacture products as per customer contract,
   c) Ensure technology transfer of operational parameters and KPIs from European unit to the Indian unit,
   d) Continuous reduction in operational costs by process improvement
3. M&S Support:
   a) Organise and manage manufacturing workflows and resources for all projects,
   b) engineering support to marketing and sales team for preparing BOM, working out product and process costing, etc right from pre-series to serial production contracts,
   c) Resolve issues, customer complaints and delays in production
4. Coordination with internal stakeholders like Engineering & Projects, Spares Management, Procurement for day to day operation and project progress
5. Identify and recommend training needs for the workforce and accordingly develop competencies to ensure smooth translation of manufacturing technology from the Technology Partner to the Indian operations
6. Efficiency:
   a) Optimise facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network operations,
   b) Plan and design the implementation of industry 4.0 principles
   c) Lower rejection by ensuring manufacturing of products matches the customer specifications and quality parameters.
7. Customer complaint handling:
   a) For any product complaint, interface with operations team to resolve within timeline,
   b) For any service complaint, analyse to identify the cause and resolve within timeline
8. Coordinate with stakeholders for carrying out manufacturing trials for new product development once production starts
9. Work with IT team to design and implement necessary technologies and systems

Minimum qualifications: BE/ BTech in Production/ Mechanical/ Chemical/ Materials engineering
Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in auto/ aero/ defence/ space/ rail sector
Direct experience in composite manufacturing process such as Compression moulding/ RTM/ filament and/ or thermoplastic manufacturing methods such as injection moulding/ thermoforming/ blow moulding etc

Technical Competencies: Exposure to process modelling tools such as PAM-Composites/ Moldflow/ Hypermesh is essential
Prior training in ISO/ TQM processes, statistical quality control etc., would be desirable
