  • Design & CAD Modelling of BIW parts and Assemblies as per engineering guidelines and checklists.
  • Creation and Management of product data structure in PLM and ensuring BOM Quality.
  • To support the development of Design Standards & Carryover Strategy in line with the defined Technical Policy and Technology Roadmap for the Sub-Module (Upper Body Structure) and engineering of the Sub-Module (Upper Body Structure) for the projects in line with the standards.  
  • Create Technical Proposals for New Concepts & resolve of Technical Issues or designs to meet attributes.

  • Catia V5R25 With good modeling skills and expertise in best modeling practices, PLM systems
  • Knowledge: General Construction of Body Structure, Raw Materials, Sheet metal forming processes Assembly processes, Vehicle & Aggregate Regulations applicable to Body Structure, Test Standards & Structural Requirements (such as Durability, Static & Dynamic Stiffness, Crashworthiness, Sealing, Corrosion prevention, etc.), Awareness of Interface with other aggregates. Six Sigma Tools (DFMEA, DFM, DFA & DFS), GD&T, EPS, and the NPI Process.  Cost drivers.
  • Tools: Working knowledge of Engineering Tools (Analysis modules in CATIA, FTI, VizVSA), MINT3, RMDVV, and other internal systems

Purpose of the position

a. Why the positions exists?
b. What will happen if there is no one in the position (no one performs the work)? This role exists to develop vehicle sub-modules for the project of PVBU and EVBU to ensure delivery as per agreed program timelines, cost and quality standards within the agreed project scope.

This role leads the vehicle module team consisting of core members from AQ, Purchase, Cost Engineering and representatives of other functions as required.

  2. Vehicle Module Development:
    Provide Engineering specifications for Module based on PMXU for the project, Concepts as developed during KO Sign-off, and Vehicle Targets
    Design & Develop the Module aggregates (HVAC, AC pipes, Compressor, Condenser, Duct, Vent design & Battery Cooling/ Heating unit development ) together with SMTEs in line\ with laid down design guidelines/processes
    Update the PMXU of the module
    Work with other Module Leads and integration teams for vehicle-level Integration to achieve vehicle-level performance.
    Ensure closure of MINT, BITS & RDMVV issues along with VMT members
    Closure of TRSO & TMKO with Suppliers along with VMT members.
    Manage the relationship with suppliers in terms of engineering deliverables.
    Evaluate and ensure implementation of VAVE ideas
    Module level PDSR at each milestone
    VAVE Targets for module
  3. Budget / Resource management
    Ensure the monthly monitoring of the engineering budget at the module level
    Confirmation of milestone delivery by suppliers for clearing WCC (Work completion certificate)
    Create IPA (in principle approval form) & PVR’s (Project variation request) Budget Vs Actual

Position – MODULE LEAD -ENGINE MOUNTING

This role is for replacement of current Module lead (against resignation). This role is for module lead & SMT of PTI components for UV&Q5 project.

Education

  • Bachelor of Engineering

Work Experience

  • Design & development of the Mounting system (Engine/Transmission) and Suspension Bushes of PVBU projects at TML
  • Conduct a 6-DOF analysis & propose a mounting system to meet Cost, Weight & PAT targets
  • Knowledge about bush shape, rates, durability, and application
  • Benchmark and select the type of mount/bush suitable to meet PAT performance
  • Preparation of RFI/RFQ & SOR
  • Proficiency in Pro-e
  • Well aware of PLM system, BOM structure, DMU environment
  • Knowledge of the dynamic envelope for powertrain system
  • Knowledge of NVH related to the mounting system (Key on/off, idle, Tip in/back out, Rattle, Boom, etc)
  • Knowledge of NVH related to bushes (Impact harshness,ride compliance)
  • Design for manufacturability & serviceability
  • Monitoring the development progress with various validation agencies
  • Coordination with suppliers during design & development process
  • Knowledge on rubber/elastomer and its behavior is an added advantage
  • Technology adaptation initiatives including hydro mount,hydrobath active mount technology
