Job Description for Piping Design Engineer (ETO-Engineer to Order)

Position: Piping Design Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Reporting: Team Leader – Design

Nature of work: Individual contributor

Purpose: Engineering support to ETO (Engineer to Order) project for Ingersoll Rand compressor Products and Engineering activities as directed by EMEIA team lead.

Main responsibilities are selection of piping and related components, pipe size calculation, piping layout with isometric drawing extraction, General arrangement drawings and BOM/MTO as per industry standards.

Industry Experience: Experienced in projects involving Piping engineering, with application knowledge in piping standard 31.3. Experience in handling projects for European and American region.

Essential Skills:

• Expertise in creation of piping Layout with various plant equipment’s using Autodesk Plant 3D or equivalent tool& create Piping Material Specification (PMS) documents – 2+ years of hands on experience.
• Expertise in Piping Isometric drawing extraction using Autodesk Plant 3D and AutoCAD – 2+ years of hands on experience
• Experience in interpreting Scope of Work and create / update Piping and Instrumentation drawings (P&ID) – Min 1 year of hands on experience
• Preparation of Plant layout Drawing & General Assembly Drawing (GAD) – Min 1 Year of hands on experience

Desired Skills (Good to have):

• Qualification : Diploma or BE – Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in Customer technical documentation (Equipment, Instrumentation and Control datasheet preparation)
• Experience of using Inventor/CREO – 3D Modeling.
• Exposure to working of air compressors, dryers, filters, storage tanks etc
• Good communication skills.
• Piping material & size selection.
• Structural and Skid design.
• Diploma/Professional course in Piping Design.
