Job Description:
Role Definition :
Lead Production plans, coordinates, and controls manufacturing processes so that products are delivered on time and within budget with desired quality
Lead Production makes sure goods and services are produced safely, cost-effectively, and on time and that they meet the required quality standards.
Responsibilities
To oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations including but not limited to the following:
- Plan and draw up a production schedule
- Decide on and coordinate with various departments to organize the resources that are required and ensure stock levels remain adequate
- Select equipment and take responsibility for its running and maintenance so it does not cause production stoppage
- Set, maintain, and sustain the required quality standards
- Ensure that the product will be cost-effective by estimating costs and negotiating and agreeing on budgets with your managers
- Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed
- Monitor productivity rates and product standards and implement quality control programs
- Organize the repair of any damaged equipment
- liaise with different departments, teams, and stakeholders as required
- Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times
- Ensure customer orders are completed on time and to budget and that quality standards and targets are met
- Work with your managers to implement the company’s policies and goals
- Collate and analyze data, putting together production reports for management as required
- Supervise and motivate a team of workers
- Review worker performance, identify training needs, and facilitate training
- Ensure that only trained and qualified manpower is used for production
This position will be involved in the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage. A large part of the job is dealing with people and resource management.
It may also be involved to support industrial engineering, repair lab, TQM, and purchasing functions
Working hours
- Six days a week, totaling 48 hours per week
- Will have to manage production in 3 shifts
Qualifications
- BE/B Tech in Electrical/Electronics Or Mechanical
Skill Set Required
- Planning and organization skills to be able to run and monitor the production process
- The ability to act decisively and solve staff or equipment-related problems
- The capacity to grasp complex concepts easily
- Computer literacy to deal with various technologies and programs
- Attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality
- The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with your team, managers, and stakeholders
- Strong negotiation skills for getting materials within budget at the right time
- The ability to work under pressure and multitask
- Leadership skills and the ability to motivate others to meet deadlines
- A results-driven approach to work
- The ability to work in a logical, systematic manner.
Work experience
- 8 years after graduation
Experience required in
- flow (mass) production – products are mass-produced on an assembly line and are identical and standardized
- manual & semiautomatic production lines
- Any industry testing at various stages and end of line testing is part of the production, preferably but not mandatory
