Job description

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to understand the simulation requirements and prepare an analysis plan as per the Standards.
  • Perform Static, Vibration and Impact analysis of various products of Cooper Lighting fixtures using ANSYS mechanical and LS-Dyna applications and document the outcome and communicate the results
  • Candidates will be required to coordinate with other departments on assigned tasks and secure inputs from various stakeholders and make recommendations accordingly.
  • Should constantly explore new advancements of simulation capabilities, prepare technology road maps in alignment with business strategies, and work to mature the methodologies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to be able to collaborate communicate with global counterparts.
  • Preparation of Analysis process documents, Book of Knowledge documents
  • Drive for Innovation. Active in generating design ideas that lead to patents, Journal publications, and Trade secrets.

What you’ll need

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical / Aerospace / Applied Mechanics with Machine Design / Structural Mechanics / Computational Modeling specialization with 5-7 years working experience in ANSYS Mechanical, LS-Dyna applications.
  • The candidate should have a strong background in solid mechanics with a thorough understanding of Finite Element Analysis fundamentals.
  • The incumbent should understand vibrational & Impact fundamentals with working knowledge around stress and strain-based failure predictions and methods. He/She needs to understand and handle non-linear analysis involving geometric, contact, and material non-linear behavior.
  • Working experience in ANSYS Mechanical and LS-Dyna. Knowledge in Thermal Simulations will be an added advantage.
  • Should constantly explore new advancements of simulation capabilities, prepare technology road maps in alignment with business strategies, and work to mature the methodologies.
  • He/She should proactively look for various opportunities to validate his/her analytical predictions with physical testing to constantly mature DP (Digital Prototype) capabilities.
  • Knowledge in any programming language C/C++/Python to be able to create Macros using ACT tool in ANSYS.
