Rolls-Royce is Hiring | Engineer – Aerothermal |

Position – Engineer – Aerothermal

Company – Rolls-Royce
Location – Bengaluru, Karnataka, IN

Job description

Pioneering in the power that matters is Rolls-Royce. It’s crucial that we show how we innovate in this industry when we talk about it. We don’t only dream about amazing possibilities; we also push the envelope at every turn and use cutting-edge engineering to make our creative concepts a reality. This is how genius is produced, and it should be sold by letting the evidence speak for itself.

With 16,000 engines serving 160 customers in 100 countries, we are the second-largest global supplier of defence aero-engine goods and services. Every significant sector of aviation, including transport, combat, patrol, trainers, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles, is powered by our engines.

An Aerothermal Engineer is in charge of advancing Aerothermal capability, including engine delivery from the point of original conception and discussion with the airframers through NPI, EDP on to Production and Fleet support, as well as technology delivery from TRL1 to 7 in collaboration with our strategic partners.

Key Accountabilities

  • Define the needs for aerothermal, making sure to capture higher-level requirements and an accurate and thorough flow-down. This comprises the need for aerodynamic, thermodynamic, and combustion modeling for systems, subsystems, and components.
  • Develop concepts for all gas path aerothermal systems that satisfy the requirements, analyze them using the relevant analytical techniques to facilitate specific trades at the platform and powerplant levels, and down-select the most advantageous concepts.
  • Delivered concepts must resist unforeseen changes in engine interaction and manufacturing capabilities. Optimize systems by integrating gas path aerothermal systems through contact with all nearby locations across the company.
  • Use the proper methodologies, tools, and level of accuracy to carry out technical analysis of gas path aerothermal functionality at the sub-system and component levels, taking into account the challenge at hand and each step of the product lifecycle.
  • To guarantee that requirements have been correctly addressed and that all gas path aerothermal-related parts of the powerplant (including numerical modeling) satisfy expectations, perform the necessary verification and validation activities. This will involve defining the proper test and measurement procedures, calibrating models using the obtained data, and estimating the degree of uncertainty.
  • Specify and carry out the development and application of capability related to people, processes, methods, tools, knowledge management, and technology. Securing internal or external money may be necessary for something to be done, whether internally or internationally.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree in engineering, a certification recognized in the region as comparable, or equivalent experience
  • Have a solid understanding of cross-discipline engineering principles, such as production engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering, and product definition, as well as strong technical knowledge in mechanical design approaches.
  • The capacity to think logically, analytically, and creatively about a variety of technical issues and to weigh trade-offs between business and technological considerations while making decisions.
  • Product integrity, liability, and certification framework knowledge and expertise.
