Position – Deputy Manager – Transmission Case

Job description

Role: To design and develop gear box housing (Aluminum casting) in automotive transmissions

Responsibilities:

• Lay-outing and packaging of transmission in vehicle
• Designing of gear box housing i.e. Modelling, Designer CAE & 2D
• Development of proto parts & tooled up parts by concurrent engineering with suppliers & Production engineering
• Analysis of CAE & testing failures/ market problem pertaining to gear-box housing

Competency requirement:

Technical/ Functional:

• CAD proficiency- Uni-graphics (mandatory)
• Designer CAE & analysis proficiency– Uni-graphics (mandatory)
• Understanding of Aluminum casting processes including HPDC, LPDC, GDC & sand casting
• Understanding of manual transmission sub-systems- gearbox, gear shift mechanism, synchromesh system
• Tolerance stack-up
• Project management using Gant chart & PERT techniques.

Specific expertise required for functional area:

• Preferably have work experience in an OEM
• Good driving skills

Educational Qualification:

• B.E / B. Tech in Mechanical
