Job description

• The Requirements Engineer is responsible for getting through the customer technical gate of a proposal.
• Develop assumptions and detailed analysis that meet the customer requirements within technical capabilities.
• Support the sales organization in the business development phase of a program, as part of proposal activity by analyzing customer RFQ specifications and developing a Configuration of Response.
• Analyzing the specifications to identify a list of undefined or under defined features that may require additional customer clarification or exceptions taken prior to quotation.
• Define and develop customer/end-user requirements.
• Work with the customer, engineers and suppliers to define the requirements. Organize all requirements in a manner that allows for simplified requirements search
• Track customer specifications and versions to ensure proper product definition. Track and resolve customer specification issues.
• Interface with both the customer and Product Engineering teams to coordinate a successful resolution of issues.
• Document and maintain product requirement exceptions. Identify risk level associated with new feature development based on requirements status.
• Participate in internal and customer driven design reviews throughout program.
• Aware of all regulatory Standards and internal standards and assure that the resulting design will satisfy these requirements.
• Support internal organizations on product DFMEA, Warranty, DVP&R, User’s Manual, Technical Service, etc.,
• Lead the software/hardware/mechanical developers at the unit and system level to insure that all requirements are met and the highest product quality is achieved.

Qualifications

• 10 years (Min) related experience in Electric Vehicle or hybrid electric vehicle engineering, system engineering and design
• MSc. / MTech in Electrical, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
• An ability to work under pressure and very tight timescales.
• Big picture view and intellectual curiosity
• Drive and commitment to deliver technically challenging projects.
• Able to be flexible and prepared to travel in India and internationally
• comfortable with change and uncertainty
• Proactive, self-motivated, and attention to detail.
• A robust character with a strong drive and motivation to succeed.

• Capable of handling multiples projects/initiatives simultaneously and executing to completion
• Experience in the definition and establishing e-system requirements
• Able to provide detailed reviews on complex/technical specifications
• Broad Technical Background with general knowledge of relevant technologies of vehicle features and Electric power train
• Automotive background with a working knowledge of vehicle networking protocols.
• Practical experience in related areas such as system design, hardware/software design, and applications.
• Practical experience in design compliance with international regulatory standards
• experience in failure mode and effect analysis
• A clear understanding of project gateway deliverables within a systems engineering environment for requirements capture and definition
