Job description
Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor / Masters (Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing)
- Overall Years of experience: 10-14 years of experience
- Years of experience: Minimum 3-years of relevant experience in leading Team
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for all department functions including:
- Long term and short-term Goals & Objectives
- Management communication, Strategic Planning, PMD (Performance Management & Development), Staffing
- Manage, coach, and develop a high performing Mechanical Engineering team (team of 6-10 Engineers) that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results (Be able to lead & influence technically strong employees)
- High-Performance Management to drive Creativity & Innovation
- Alignment to ensure Effective working relationship in a matrix organization
- Project Management: work assignments, QDC (Quality, Delivery, Cost) focus,
- Understanding and translating internal customer requirements effectively into work assignments
- AOP, QOR, travel plan, LIGHT CAPEX, material and project proposals, training and development plans/IDPs, Org Audit
- Develop strong, collaborative, and effective relationships with product groups (Build trust and relationship with team members at all levels)
Added Responsibilities:
- Accountable for Project commits by milestones; Scope finalization, Concept development, Engineering verifications/calculations to mitigate risks, dFMEA, Detail design with the test plan, Design Validation, and Product launch
- Participate & provide Guidance in product CIPs, innovation programs, customer interactions, solution for line down/customer safety/critical escalations to Customer requirements
- Leads troubleshooting, structured investigations, and implementation of solutions, RCCAs for safety / Line down, reliability, productivity, contamination issues
- Performs PS&DM to identify engineering business process requirements
- Effective collaboration with CFTs: Software, Product Support, Process Engineers, and Suppliers, on the design, modification, of custom and OEM systems components.
- Prepare and analyze test plans and procedures to assure that technical and operational requirements are met and properly demonstrated.
- Constant interaction and engagement with the Product Engineering team in the US to work on Engineering Priority Programs
- Participate & Conducts concept and feasibility studies for current and next-generation products (design reviews)
- Responsible for evaluating equipment to establish conducting experimental tests and analyzing the pertinent material and data in preparation for your presentation at design, project, and program reviews.
- Works with suppliers to prepare detailed design, prototype fabrication, design testing/verification, and managing product release
Skills:
Mandatory Skills:
- Proven successful hands-on experience in the design of complex systems (Electromechanical, Structural, Vacuum Sub-Systems) – Machine Tools, Special Purpose Machines, Medical Equipment
- Highly skilled in ‘managing/working with’ interdisciplinary (analytical approach to problem-solving – statics, dynamics, thermal, flow, application of statistical methods or combinations of these, etc.) engineering departments in realizing project goals Outstanding analysis and trouble-shooting skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills in decision making, problem-solving in absence of complete or accurate data, and experience in situational leadership, conducting appraisal feedback and motivating the team in achieving business results.
- Excellent written, verbal, and business effective presentation skills
Desirable Skills:
- Strong manufacturing knowledge like – machining (conventional & non-conventional), welding, installation and assembling of big component, sheet metal fabrication
- Experience with Systems Engineering
- Exposure/Execution: field problems, effective RCCA, and realizing process/product innovation
- Exposure to Project Management tools and techniques, MS Project, and preparation of Gantt charts
