The candidate must demonstrate strong mechanical design knowledge, application of aerospace practices and sound engineering judgment. The candidate must use experience and judgment to accomplish goals, exercise Honeywell initiatives and generate innovative solutions.

Minimum qualification and experience:

  • Masters or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree from a reputed university.
  • Minimum 2+ years of Proven Mechanical industry experience with Strong Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of CAD Tool UGNX and proven ability to model machined / CAST / Sheet metal parts.
  • Should be a Self-starter, with strong oral and written communication.

Preference:

  • Must understand Mechanical industry practices and Aerospace Practices.
  • Demonstrates Good drawing interpretations, spec interpretations, manufacturing techniques and GD&T Skills.

Description:

Responsible for robust estimation processes to deliver best in quality and cost competitive bids to make Sales successful and enable achievement of HBS regional sales targets.

Technical Skills:

  • Estimation- Input study, customer requirement summary, generation of RFI’s, device take-offs, , the right product selection and preparation of relevant BoQ and costing.
  • Be responsible for the architecting and designing of FM [Facility Management] solution bids, understanding customers/project requirements, architecting compliant and efficient solutions, including scoping the effort required to successfully deliver the proposed technology. Solutions include FM Control systems multi-disciplined technology packages with Honeywell Software and Products, 3rd Party business systems, ICT Infrastructure, Networking, Integration, and Custom Software Development
  • Tasks required to take lead : All Cost Estimates (Opex, FFE, Capex, DLP, Warranty), Costed Bill of Materials, subcontractor pricing, Risk Management Plan, Abatement Analysis, Asset Management Plan, customer pricing schedules, Asset register and quantities, Coordinate and lead Technical and Operational Risk Reviews.
  • Interact as a trusted advisor to SME’s, Product Managers, Project Leads, ensuring a value engineered approach utilizing the industry best practices.
  • Proposals- Studying specifications and arrive at inclusion/ exclusion list, Technical qualifications/ assumptions/ deviations.
  • Commercial exposure- Vendor management, taxations.
  • Contributing and tracking the regional technical preferences on estimations, awareness of the product ranges, ability to apply knowledge and understanding of Honeywell products to develop solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Performing quality checks for the jobs.

Engineer II mechanical is responsible for Mechanical Shock and Vibration simulation of Electronics components for Mechanical Packaging and Transportation. Ideal Candidate should have fair understanding of the various standards for Mechanical testing (Shock, Vibration, Tumble, Drop, etc…) of electronic products. Candidate should be familiar with various simulation tools such as Ansys Mechanical, Ansys Sherlock, LS-Dyna, etc…

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Understand the Electronics products certification requirements for Mechanical packaging, Operating Environment, etc…
  • Establish standard simulation and analysis practices for the certification and qualification requirements
  • Prepare proposals and business case for running Mechanical simulations during early product development phases to reduce the risk of qualification test failures or eliminate the certain qualification tests thru certification of Analysis methods in accordance with requirements.

Must Have:

  • Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering Degree or Equivalent with 5+ years’ experience
  • Hands on experience in Mechanical Simulation tools such as Ansys Mechanical, Ansys Sherlock, LS-Dyna, etc…
  • Hands on experience of running accelerated life testing simulations on electronic products
  • Hands on experience of running Shock, Vibrations, Drop and Tumble Simulations
