Job Title: Throughput Simulations Engineer
Department: Manufacturing Engineering Integration: GMTCI
General Purpose of Position:
- Execute Throughput Simulation Study Analyses and provide solutions to reduce cost and complexity for product programs in Global regions.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Create Discrete Event Simulation Models for Automotive Plants.
- Conceptualize, Build, simulate, and optimize the process models using Plant Simulation and C-Draw simulation Software.
- Understand process flows, analyze data, and effectively represent in a simulation model to achieve better interrelationship and process improvement.
- Lead and coordinate simulation and Planning efforts between teams to develop optimal solutions for the designed concept or current process
- Bottleneck Analysis, Throughput Analysis, Logistics Optimization, Data Analysis, Cost benefit Analysis & Optimize Resource Utilization
- Provide results to leadership and coordination between internal departments and Plants for multiple sites.
- Develop design solutions to provide best process flow to improve the throughput of the facilities
- Inspect facilities in accordance with corporate standards and procedures.
Skills / Requirements:
- Knowledge about the functionality of Throughput Simulation Software (Plant Simulation, CDRAW, FactoryCAD/FLOW, FlowPlanner, ). AutoCAD, MS Visio,
- Ability to code logic of simulation model,
- Experience in Automotive Shop floor experience will be preferred.
- Knowledge about throughput behaviors and production systems.
- Experience in Discrete Event Simulation
- Knowledge about Lean Manufacturing Strategies like the theory of constraints.
- Ability to address unusual and/or difficult problems with analytical ability and problem-solving techniques
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles, layout design and Material flow and layouts
- Knowledge about vehicle assembly manufacturing process and documentation
- Required flexibility to work on different IE function as per the business requirements (Ergonomics, Layout, Manufacturing Process Documentation) or for work rebalancing
- Should be able to Coordinate with Multicultural teams.
- Excellent research-ability of multiple information and data sources
- Excellent Communication (verbal & written) and meeting facilitation skills
- Ability to adapt to changes, different roles, or environments
- Required flexibility in working hours due to global business requirements
- Willing to Travel
- Extended hours required as part of job requirements
Experience:
- 2-5 Years of Experience in Throughput Simulation Analysis for Automotive Plant
- Working knowledge of Industrial Engineering including Global Manufacturing Systems, Bill Of Process (BoP), Bill of Equipments (BoE), and Vehicle assembly process in the automotive plant (Body / Paint / GA)
- Knowledge of office tools, power BI, VBA Macro
Education:
Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Production, Automobile).

- Verify & analyze the input required for a project
- Developing & delivering GDIS reports as per the Global Standards
- GDIS template port for global programs from one region to another
- Performing the EWO request from the Plants
- Performing Troubleshooting for GDIS system downtime
- Performing processing activity for GMIO region
- Developing GDIS reports as per the Global Standards
- Be an effective communicator with all stakeholders & team members.
- Perform Quality check of completed files
- Provide Productivity Improvement ideas
- Support in Training New Engineers to develop their technical skills
