Position – Mechanical Component Engineer

Job Description

  • Execute the projects related to the design of Moulds & Equipment’s
  • Provide technical solutions for moderate to complex problems with minimum support
  • Communication with stakeholders and project teams in the alignment of project priorities /Deliverables
  • Ability to innovate & improving (CI) functionality, safety, quality & cost in the design of molds & equipment
  • Experience in Unigraphics NX programming is desirable.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate technical solutions in Design of Mould equipment used for Blade Manufacturing
  • Contribute to the continuous dialogue with the task stakeholders (Manager, DK PMs, BU) to reassure the intended functionality and quality of the product. Use 3D (assembly structure) which enhance product interface and reliability in:
  • A better understanding of the design intent (product combination)
  • Specifying the requirements of design clearly
  • Handle design tasks involving design calculations, 3D & 2D drafting, including GD&T application and documentation 2 Manage & Maintain Engineering Documentation in TeamCenter.
  • Maintain structured data in Teamcenter to enable easy use for Mould/Equipment Building Co-ordinate with suppliers to get complete technical documentation for the molds & production equipment Maintain instructions and implement Engg Change requests

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s in Mechanical / Aerospace / Industrial engineering, or a similar field
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in Design & Detailing of structural components & particularly working with Heavy engineering/heavy equipment’s/large Fabrication is a must.
  • Expertise in Unigraphics NX software modules (3d modeling, detailing) & Teamcenter Engineering (PDM),
  • Experience in Unigraphics NX programming is desirable.
  • Engineering Change Process, Bill of Materials, Building Technical documentation,
  • Knowledge of the Manufacturing process (Laser cutting, Welding, etc)
  • Know how on industrial standards components
  • Know how one of the shelf component (such as size, shape, material, etc)

Position – Strategic Sourcing Engineer- RM

Job Description

Role Summary / Purpose:

  • Collaborate globally with in GEPC business to deliver best Strategic Sourcing opportunities for Rotating Machines – SPOC and responsible for End to End Techno Commercial Evaluation, Sourcing and Procurement support for Large & Medium Motors and Generator components / Solutions involving Frames, Shafts, Bearings, Coolers, Laminations, Exciters, Insulation, Busbars and Terminal boxes etc., meeting Cost Target.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation of Design to Cost (DTC) approach
  • Should cost analysis through aPriori, Boothroyd & empirical evaluation.
  • Data-based analysis to drive cost-benefit for Component Cost (DMP) & Mfg. process (DLP)
  • Detailed Should cost analysis based on material, manufacturing processes, and other cost elements for both Built to Spec and Built to Print products through analytical, tear down approach.
  • Supplier Integration and Strategic Sourcing to meet all the requirements for lead time, performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability in RM components
  • Global Spend analysis, Specifications mapping and data analytics by commodity, divisions, suppliers etc.
  • Ability to identify opportunities through Make Vs Buy, Volume Consolidation, Technical Specification standardization and influence the global cross functional teams to adapt the identified opportunities.
  • Market connect to Identify suppliers globally and locally, with capability to manufacture and supply required commodities.
  • Cost based benchmarking analysis and provide insight into opportunities to improve cost structure(s).
  • Excellent ability to develop, & manage strategic supplier relationships, leveraging above-average business acumen.
  • Lead supplier RFx (Requests for Proposal/Quotation etc.) processes for GE PC Systems to ensure rapid response for competitive price/quality/lead time trade-off’s
  • Work with platform owners early at design phase to integrate DTC best practices and adopt supplier standard parts & processes to PPS
  • Able to Influence cross functional teams, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering and Product Management to drive cost out and implementation of long-term commodity sourcing strategies resulting in best-in-class Productivity, Quality, Delivery and Cost on all categories
  • Support regional team Sourcing & Manufacturing at Factory / Vendor facility
  • Ability to travel up to 20-30% of the time, both domestic and international

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Equivalent.
  • Min. 5 – 10 years of RM design & sourcing expertise for industrial drives and its related components (Renewables / Oil & Gas / Marine / Metal Process Industrial knowledge preferred).
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in Strategic Sourcing Engineering role for RM Equipment.
  • Familiarity with Design & Development approach for RM components, exposure to IEC & UL standards.
  • Need to Possess extensive Product and component level knowledge (Understanding Configurations, application, specifications, BOM, SLD) and Manufacturing process.
  • Detailed understanding on material selection criteria, available standard raw material sizes in the market.
  • Excellent communication, presentation & influencing skills
  • Capable of working with Global Cross functional team
  • Proficient knowledge of Sourcing & Engineering tools AutoCAD, Creo etc.,
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications

Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products
  • Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills.
  • Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how the work of our own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
