Job Description Summary
He/She is responsible for engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Accountable for the quality of my own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step-by-step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Process Engineering activities and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Good knowledge of Cycle Time study, Motion study, Method study, process mapping, etc.
- Establish and monitor Time standards.
- Hands-on experience in shop floor practice eg. Implementation of lean manufacturing concept, line balancing, layout change, bottleneck analysis, continuous improvement, throughput time & cost reduction projects, etc.
- Sound knowledge of advanced Manufacturing processes, particularly assembly using power tools. Knowledge of the special process of induction heating & assembly process is mandatory.
- Monitoring capacity utilization, and preparing MIS on the process.
- Good Knowledge of GD&T, and basic principles of design.
- Conduct technical feasibility study, BOM, and routing preparation.
- Preparation of process documentation of SOPs, work instructions, Control plan, PFMEA, etc.
- Understanding DFA, Low-cost automation, and Initiatives to improve PQCDSM.
- To estimate labor cost & capital investment for NPI.
- Standardization of process as per global standards.
- Ensure all engineering designs, specifications & technical data are complete& accurately documented
- Translate engineering BoM into manufacturing BoM including item master creation, defining routing in Oracle
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
- Around 4 to 7 years of Experience in a Manufacturing company, preferably in shop floor management. Manufacturing
- Engineering knowledge will be an added advantage

- Develop coaching skills to guide HPTs & support model line implementation
- Ability to travel to the technical center, and suppliers if needed.
