The Engineer – Advance sourcing & Supply chain will be based in Chennai.

Here is a glimpse of what you will do:

• Advance sourcing support for Reliability Solution design centers by suggesting suitable manufacturing processes, mechanical operations and capable suppliers based on technical requirements from designers.
• Alternate process and raw material suggestions to lower the cost.
• Alternate low cost capable supplier scouting globally and locally

Here is some of what you will need (required):

• Experiences on mechanical components manufacturing from design, development, tooling, prototyping and testing
• Experience in costing of mechanical commodities.
• Experience in VAVE. Should be able to propose various cost reduction activities.
• Liaise with suppliers, development engineers, and manufacturing to have cross functional discussions and reviews to check the feasibility of proposed cost reduction ideas.
• Knowledge in Product development process and phases.
• Knowledge in 3D modelling softwares like Pro E, Solidworks
• Knowledge in molding, Sheetmetal fabrication, casting, machining
• Knowledge about various raw materials and criteria in selecting appropriate raw material and manufacturing process
• Knowledge about various secondary operations.
• Knowledge about tear down process.
• Product mandatory details in BOM & understanding complex 2D drawings & Supply chain requirements
• Minimum order Quantity (MOQ), packaging Payment terms, Delivery Terms, Lead time.

Here are a few of our preferred experiences:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical cost reduction, product development, sourcing, manufacturing process knowledge, tooling knowledge, Value Engineering, BOM cost Estimation.
• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical
