Job Summary :

  • Performs and supports the specification, design, implementation, and testing, for Eaton’s Medium Voltage LIPE products.
  • We are looking for motivated professionals with demonstrated skills in Medium voltage products, 3D Creo, Six Sigma certified who can drive engineering excellence and leverage the Analysis first approach.
  • of Medium voltage products like underground protection equipment to meet customer requirements, cost targets, and market launch timelines
  • Interact with local and global cross-functional teams to perform conceptual designs, analysis, prototype, and testing for LIPE products
  • Hands-on knowledge of IEEE/IEC and other applicable standards to MV products
  • Perform design and drawing activities for medium voltage products of moderate complexity in accordance with established practices and company standards, including bills of material, detail/assembly, and customer drawings
  • Drive project execution through the design, testing, and implementation phase
  • Plan digital prototype activities before prototype building by coordinating with the simulation team
  • Represent knowledge of sub-systems of Medium voltage underground products like load break elbows, bushings, and connectors. Analyze different components of MV products for static, dynamic, thermal, and dielectric conditions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of CAD (2D and 3D) tools with mechanical or electromechanical systems. Knowledge of industry-recognized drafting and CAD standards, practices, and procedures. Proficiency in Creo, Autodesk Inventor, SAP, and Enovia is preferable
  • Recommends different manufacturing processes like plastic, rubber molding, extrusion, machining, etc. appropriately considering functionality and cost of component
  • Prepare Test plan and perform development/certification testing as per relevant IEEE standard
  • Provide engineering design support for LIPE underground elbow, connector projects, new product development (NPD), and new technology introduction (NTI) projects
  • Perform Engineering calculations and apply analysis first approach during the product design process
  • Prepares different concepts by identifying/modifying absolute features at the component and at the system level, carries out the economic feasibility of proposed concepts, and drives for execution till the conceptual design is rolled out in the product
  • Perform a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique customer applications
  • Monitors progress and achievements on projects. Provides timely status updates and reports to stakeholders
  • Prepare for design review and lead presentation or support more experienced Engineer / Project Engineer / Project Lead during design reviews
  • Utilizes DFSS concepts/tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development &/or existing product improvements
  • Able to excel as a team player by successfully collaborating with engineering peers as well as cross-functional personnel to ensure custom designs meet customer expectations
  • Serve to existing product portfolio by supporting customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standards, and market requirements through the Change Management process

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering in Mechanical.
  • 3 – 6 years of relevant experience in electromechanical products, preferred in underground rubber molded protection products
  • Leading efforts to design complex mechanical drawings or some combination of these in a complex, manufacturing environment
  • Experience with conceptual designs and processes is desired
  • Demonstrated skills in engineering analysis and tool capabilities (CAD, FEA, DFSS, etc…,)
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the value proposition and quality of the engineering deliverables
  • Should able to generate novel concepts/ideas for the improvement of the Electromechanical systems
  • Demonstrated project management and leadership capability, experience in coordinating/completing complex projects on time

Desired:

  • Knowledge of Medium voltage protection equipment, connectors, elbows, rubber molded products
  • Very proficient in Creo 2D & 3D modeling
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards and how they apply to the product
  • Extensive experience with product design, cost out, agile methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Problem solving skills,Working in ambuiguity
