We have an immediate opportunity for Engineer – Cartridge Valves to join our diverse engineering team of integrated circuit solutions. The Engineer will be responsible for design and development for hydraulic cartridge valves for ICS business unit. You will be responsible for contributing technologies which can change the economics of ICS business. You will design hydraulics valves, generate IP, plan and support to execute validations tests. You must be proficient with new product development methodologies, tools and practices, and must have experience of full life cycle development of hydraulics or relevant domain products including requirements, design, development, and testing.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to, the following.
- Lead New product development programs and support existing product engineering and cost-down activities
- Thorough understanding of product design and development principles, with strong problem-solving skills while working with the diverse and global teams
- Ensure first the right approach for the design solutions through analytical prediction tools, engineering calculations, and by utilizing prediction tools like- FEA & CFD
- Build prototypes, define product validation plan, and test the solutions to meet/exceed customer requirements and support new product introduction.
- Utilize DFSS concepts/tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development
- Performs quality checks to ensure the design meets Danfoss and customer standards/requirements
- Maintain effective communications both verbal & written with customers, team members, and cross-functional departments.
- Impart the continuous learning culture within his peers.
- Provide technical support to all internal functions, suppliers, and customers as it relates to the product.
- Execute and support existing product improvement projects and cost-down initiatives.
- Execute on building new technologies/methodologies as per the organizational technical roadmap
- Come up with innovative solution concepts/ideas to introduce technical differentiators/value propositions and protect IP through patents/trade secrets
Background & Skills
The ideal candidate possesses these skills.
- BE/B.TECH with 3-5 years of relevant experience or ME/M.Tech in Mechanical or related engineering area with 1-3 years of engineering/product design experience in the relevant domain.
- Lead predictable designs through Six Sigma methodology for product development. Utilize DFSS concepts/tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development &/or existing product improvements.
- Hands-on experience in Root Cause Analysis
- Hands-on exposure to engineering standards like ASME / ISO related to Geometric Dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T), Stack analysis, checklists, etc.
- Familiar with Engineering change management processes and execution of changes through PLM or any other system
- Hands-on experience in CAD tools like ProE, UG NX
- Knowledge of hydraulic valve design added advantage
- Exposure to computational methods like FEM, CFD, Matlab, etc.
- It is advantageous to have experience working with Mobile hydraulics applications like Telehandlers, backhoes, reach stackers, tractors, wheel loaders, etc.
