Position – Consultant (Component Cost Down)

Job description

• Perform Should Cost Analysis for Machined Castings & Electro-Mechanical Products
• Own & validate the Should cost models for high robustness
• Agree Should cost potentials identified & drive for implementing it
• Support & Learn through commercial negotiations together with Global Procurement, to improve the Should cost models
• Generate “Out of the Box” cost savings ideas using cost drivers identified from Should cost
• Contribute to strategic decisions through best practices for the most economic manufacturing process
• Participate in Product Cost Down projects to identify & mature technical ideas through VA/VE methodologies
• Influence manufacturing process, Cost, Supplier Selection, in new product development
• Enhance & Support other mechanical components on Should costing
• Requirements for Education, Work Experience and Personal Characteristics
• Minimum of 5-7 years working experience from a manufacturing industry environment as Should cost engineer
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Strong knowledge of global sourcing & manufacturing best practices on Mechanical parts & products
• Exposure to an aPriori or similar tool
• Very strong analytical skills coupled with excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Must have worked in an organization/team or role where Cost saving as one of main KPI using Product Cost Management principles
• Experienced in the interdisciplinary and global working environment
