JOB SUMMARY

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and testing of Mechanical hardware based on the mechanical architecture and the mechanical requirements within a project.

JOB FUNCTIONS (ESSENTIAL)- Level 1

• Development of core and/or application-specific mechanical requirements for automotive electronics.
• Develop mechanical hardware in compliance with Global Product Engineering Process (GPEP).
• Verify mechanical requirements at component and assembly level testing.
• Support the rest of the functional disciplines with all aspects related to mechanical hardware.
• Perform detailed work assignments provided by the mentor or team member, by applying established and well-defined mechanical engineering techniques.
• Work assignments primarily involve entry-level or intermediate work.
• Mechanical Engineer (Design) – Requirements analysis, Mechanical architecture development, component design, and assembly management.
• In-depth analysis, simulation, development of design documentation (3D models, 2D drawings, ME/EE interface, DFMEA) – Optimization of design for cost, manufacturability, and quality – Experience in thermal management – Thermal analysis of electronic assemblies – Thermal mitigation strategies (Conduction paths, convection surfaces)
• Experience in electronic enclosure sealing analysis and design – Dispensed sealants – Laser/Vibration weld sealing – Fixed gasket sealing – Enclosure seal testing
• Mechanical Engineer (Project Lead) – Main customer interface for all mechanical hardware-related activities including customer design reviews, clarify and negotiate customer requirements for the project – Lead then planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting of all mechanical-related activities for various projects.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. Ensures that facilities are in full compliance with all safety regulations.
• Maintains regular attendance.
• Follows safe work procedures; Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Uses workplace tools and equipment as instructed; Reports workplace hazards, injuries, and illness as soon as possible following event.
• Complies with the requirements of Quality Operating System (QOS)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience –Level 1

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Master’s preferred)
• 0-4 years’ relevant experience regarding the Responsibility / Activities (listed above) in serial development. Automotive component development (mandatory).

Basic Qualification: B.Tech (Mechanical/Production or any equivalent degree with minimum 60%of marks.

Mechanical Designer is responsible for design, development, and documentation of Mechanical hardware and assemblies based on the product architecture.

CAD Tool : Should have good knowledge in

• NX, Catia, ProE)
• Mechanical data management -Teamcenter
• Mechanical CAE -Ansys Mechanical, Solid works analysis
• Knowledge of MS Office package (Excel/PowerPoint/Word/OneNote)

Essential Job Function :

• Development of core and/or application-specific 2D representation (drawing) of hardware components and product assemblies.
• Develop design data in compliance with Global Product Engineering Process (GPEP).
• Verify design standards meet professional and customer requirements.
• Support project teams with design data exchange with customers and suppliers
• Perform complex work assignments requiring independent problem solving and decision making, requiring strong design technical competency
• Work assignments primarily involve senior/advanced-level work and may mentor other designers.
• Lead the planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting of all design-related activities for various projects.
• Coordination of integration of core mechanical components into an application-specific mechanical design
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. Ensures that facilities are in full compliance with all safety regulations.
• Maintains regular attendance.

Technical: Should have good working knowledge

• In Structured design approach Of Development of reusable mechanical hardware in the automotive environment
• In Engineering design best practices of data storage process/tools of mechanical design, simulation, and testing techniques

Abilities and communication:

• Able to work effectively in a global environment.
• Able to represent technical design topics internally and externally
• Self-motivation, tenacity, and determination are very useful in this position
• Must be able to work independently with no supervision
• Must be able to teach and mentor other designers
• Good communication skills – both written and oral
• Should work from customer location-Pune, on long term
