Job description

As a mechanical design engineer, you will have the opportunity to learn from and contribute in a collaborative team environment in the area of design of new global products and processes. You will also build your professional network, engage with peers and receive guidance from mentors in the field.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will work on design of core engine components, engine sub-systems and validation test planning.

The responsibilities include

• Design & development of core engine components, cooling system components, air intake and exhaust components, heavy & light fabrication, driveline components, genset accessories
• Analyse the flow in the air intake and exhaust systems
• Validation – FEA Analysis, Test Data Analysis, Validation test planning
• Design of new products and processes
• Check the status and review the designs
• Communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units
• Perform product and process maintenance

Requirements:

• Bachelors with 5 to 7 years of experience on IC engine and its sub-systems
• Masters with 3 to 5 years of experience on IC engine and its sub-systems
• Strong in Mechanical Engineering basics in the area of Applied Mechanics, Machine Design, FEA, Mechanical Vibration
• Tools: Pro/E Creo, Creo Simulate/ANSYS, ABQUS, HyperMesh, SolidWorks.
• Good understanding of IC Engine fundamentals and working principle.
• Good knowledge of engine sub-systems viz. intake, cooling, exhaust, aftertreatment
• Fatigue and Vibration concepts related to various Engine / Machine components and systems
• Good knowledge of 2-D drawings, GD&T, tolerance stacking
• Demonstrated excellent judgement and decision-making ability, demonstrated ability to independently solve problems
• Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the work groups
