To develop and maintain sales model product compatibility in the SAP-based business process. SAP supports the worldwide sales of Machines. This is the most Variant Configurator position for an experienced, individual contributing to assignments that are complex and challenging and begin to become strategic in nature.
Qualification :
The position calls for extensive, in-depth knowledge of the company’s products and their uses. It’s crucial to comprehend SAP in depth. Must be analytically capable, show initiative, be focused on results, and possess excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is necessary; other languages are a plus. As a Variant Configurator Analyst, three months of training and work experience are normally needed. A four-year college degree in the mechanical, production, or manufacturing stream is often required for the role. Additionally, three (3) to five (5) years of steadily increasing responsibility in a job-related setting are necessary, as is prior experience working as a variant configuration analyst. To discuss fresh ideas and offer advice to others, the incumbent strikes up conversations with people outside of the immediate work group. The ability to listen and guide others is critical to the success of this job. The incumbent must have multiple application experiences or equivalent work knowledge.
Responsibilities :
The incumbent has considerable Machine business and Variant Configuration (VC) experience.
The key responsibilities of this assignment are:
- Follow the guidelines created by the technical analyst for an SAP product configuration.
- Create and maintain SAP product compatibility for sales models.
- Join New Product Introduction (NPI) groups and develop NPI product compatibility.
- To ensure correct and clearly stated feature or component number compatibility, communicate with engineering staff.
- Ensure that the feature code assignment is accurate and in accordance with the Pricing condition entry established in the SAP system by interacting with the pricing employees.
- Maintain consistent timetables for communicating product compatibility modifications to internal and external users who depend on the configuration to fulfill their order requirements.
- Respond to engineering change notices and other local change coordination requests from material master owners and change coordinators in a timely manner.
- Develop criteria for the feature presentation of product compatibility in collaboration with other team members. In addition to coordinating work with others, the job controls the completion of its own work responsibilities.
Various relationships within Caterpillar worldwide and its subsidiaries are typical internal customers. Engineering, Product Group, Pricing, and NPI groups are some of these contacts. It might be difficult to carefully assess issues and consider a range of remedies before settling on one. The incumbent may need to come up with solutions to challenging problems. To fulfill broadly specified duties and produce desired results, the incumbent defines priorities and creates a work plan. has an effect on important quality objectives, such as Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Timeliness, Accuracy, Efficiency, Cost Savings, Process Quality, etc. To achieve quality objectives for the specified measurements, the position modifies the way work is done.
