• Identify and resolve Design issues pertaining to Large Engine’s subsystems / Components
• Differentiate functional requirements wrt the applications of Engines and suggest right components/systems
• Configure / Structure Large BOM for specific/multiple applications. Identify opportunities for the common use of parts/systems
• Work independently to Identify / Design and development of new components, subsystems, or processes. Evaluate the impact of Design changes proposed by Design/Platform owners
• Work closely with various Design Control and Configuration teams to close potential Build Issues well ahead of actual production builds;
• Communicate technical information to customers, team members, suppliers, and other units;
• Suggest customers on the right processes to document/release the engineering changes of different nature.
• Support and advise other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers, and suppliers related to product design and performance.

Success factors – –Demonstrating excellent analytical skills and a mastery of Product Configuration development for varied applications. Major challenges facing incumbents are managing communication across various Platform Engineers, and Design Owners yet achieve design goals for cost, reliability, performance, timelines and managing multiple priorities.

Engineers must manage their own development, continuously learning through experience and staying abreast of technology. This position provides a platform for growth and leadership skills development.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree in Mechanical / Equivalent Engineering technical field at least 3+ years of experience in Product Platform management / Configuration management of large product portfolio catering multiple applications

Desired Qualifications:

• Worked independently in various subsystems of Large Engines – Application components
• Good knowledge of the Configuration processes / Production processes / Organisation policies and procedures end to end.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client base, technical leadership, initiative, and interpersonal skills; and the ability to communicate effectively
• Contributed independently and also define processes maps, train new engineers, and have to manage the varied nature of projects that been assigned from time to time

• Through knowledge in Order board to Engineering BOM process to identify and resolve potential build issues
