Position – Purchase Officer

Job description
This position is expected to lead the Engineering Equipments Purchases and other Indirect categories for BIL Greenfield, Brownfield & operating units requirements
Education Qualification: Diploma in Engg./ B.E. / B-Tech (preferably Mechanical/Electrical)
Role
- Coordinate with Project Team & Central Technical Excellence Team in Pre-qualification, Float RFQ, negotiations, and award Purchase Orders within stipulated budget as per CER, Post-award coordination & Vendor Management.
Sourcing
- Sourcing activity for engineering equipment, aligned with all stakeholders
- Developing a Local Vendor base and managing Local Purchasing Activity
- PR to PO conversion in SAP
- Ensuring that Procurement SOPs are followed and implementing them in the Purchase activity
- Negotiate POs and coordinate Procurement execution on all aspects involved in any project
Skills
- 3+ years of relevant experience in CAPEX & OPEX (Procurement) Purchase, preferably Project Purchase experience.
- Basic understanding of supplier-facing negotiations and procurement principles
- Strong understanding of Commercial terms, Cash flow leverages, Vendor’s Risk Analysis
- Basic Knowledge of contract, legal terminology, INCOTERMS
Proven ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) at all levels - Extremely thorough, detail-oriented and skilful in cross-functional cooperation
- Hands-on experience in SAP MM module
- Ability to manage time efficiently and complete complex/difficult transactions within defined deadlines, when required, as many deals are time-sensitive.
