Job description

Understand and define the requirements for the India region that best suit the developmental needs for the organization Develops aligns, and implements commodity strategies in India for:

• Sheetmetal – Surface treatment for sheet metal (wet and powder paint)
• Machining (focus on AL and SST) – Cleaning to support 0250-70351 and 0250-20000
• Cable and Harness
• Structural Ceramics – Negotiates and manages the maintenance of agreements with suppliers that provide the structure for all business relationships between Applied Materials and the supply base. Supports Business Units Technical program leads on the best sourcing selections to support the BU requirements wither with the regional fabrication or the existing WWOPS/AGS supply chain.
• Ensures collaboration with Applied Global Services to support proper sourcing alignment for consumables.
• Ensures that DVS (Differentiated, Value, Sustainable) activities are with accordance with the AMAT policy to protect High IP in designated high IP countries.
• Directs new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements to/from the Applied Materials supply base.
• Drives resolution to systemic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery, or lead-time, which may include engagement with sub-tiers in the supply chain.
• Develops and presents high-level cost reduction opportunities.
• Travel – ~50 % of the time to supplier locations across India and to suppliers in other countries
• Able to communicate to Sr and executive management the overall status and progress of the program.
• Able to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
• Demonstrates depth and/or breadth of expertise in own specialized discipline or field

Education and experience

• Master’s (preferred) in Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering / Supply Chain management
• 10 – 15 years’ experience
• Relocation – Full domestic relocation
• Working experience in developing India based suppliers for aerospace or medical industries
