• You will be reporting to Senior R&D Project Manager and will be responsible for contributing significantly to successful project results in product development by identifying, proposing and implementing innovative solutions.

Your responsibilities

• Responsible for leading the definition process of should-cost/Integrated Material Cost Out (IMCO) projects by organizing cross-functional workouts, close cooperation with technology, manufacturing, sourcing, product management, and vendors.
• Coordinating execution of productivity programs, validate product design changes, implement manufacturing readiness, and support product launch.
• Ensuring projects meet their financial goals.
• Ensuring developed product design meets the industrial electrical distribution market needs to be defined by product technical specifications and Underwriters Laboratories (UL), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards.
• Developing and testing product qualification, certification, and reliability requirements.
• Managing the execution of prototype design, build, and testing.
• Troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis to resolve design concept failures.
• Performing should cost and IMCO analysis and understanding key cost drivers for long-term, sustainable cost reduction.

Your background

• A Bachelor’s or Master‘s degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering analysis and design execution.
• Working knowledge of change management, six sigma, and design for reliability processes.
• Demonstrated experience in applying engineering fundamentals to resolve complex product performance, root cause analysis, and quality resolution issues.
• Knowledge of the manufacturing production process (Plastic Injection Molding, Sheet Metal, Tooling, Castings, and Forgings).
• Exposure to lower voltage circuit breakers, switchgear, product design & development, quality, value engineering, costing of electrical.
• Strong organization and analytical competencies.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to influence and drive change/results.
• Strong team player and willingness to provide support to other team design activities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and verbal written communication and presentation skills.
• Working knowledge of CAD software, costing tools(aPriori), etc.
• Travel up to 25% may be required.
