Job description

ROLE OBJECTIVE

  • Design & Development of automotive terminal system for local, global and affiliate customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the mechanical design of terminals (Sheet Metal components) based on customer requirement for automotive application
  • Responsible to carry out detailed mechanical design work including 3D modeling, Proposal /detail drawings for costing/production, Initiating simulation (e.g. Mechanical, electrical, and thermal).
  • Responsible for choosing standard parts, features, material, surface finishes as per internal guidelines that would meet the internal / customer requirements and cost.
  • Responsible for preparing and presenting design reviews per manufacturability, update design per suggestion and keep record.
  • Responsible for carrying out design change requests in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for preparing validation plan as per the customer requirements/industry standards, sample preparation, evaluation of the samples and test report, the release of the parts to the customer.
  • Apply engineering best practices to reduce cost of products to meet customer’s cost targets.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

  • B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with connector type (terminals and electro mechanical parts) preferred
  • Exposure to various manufacturing processes (including, stamping, plating, moulding, die-casting, component assembly, jigs & fixture etc,.) is preferred.
  • Knowledge about various phases of product realization and product development
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art design tools such as Creo Parametric (Sheet Metal), modelling, Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GPS), electrical & electronic design and Simulation.

CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

  • 5-7 years of experience in Design and Development of products preferably in Sheet metal parts. Experience in Connector Industry will be an added advantage.
  • Good Knowledge in Creo software & PDM windchill.
  • Good knowledge in Product Life Cycle management tool software
  • Capable of supporting Multiple Projects simultaneously
  • Good Conceptual, problem solving and Analytical Skills
  • Demonstrated Experience of working in a fast paced and changing environment with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent Communication and Presentation skills.
  • Experience in automotive industry preferred
