As an Engineer – Mechanical Component, you will be responsible for executing the design, analysis, or evaluation of Cabs and its components for locomotive application and other assigned projects. You will use analytical tools such as ANSYS or other FEA to evaluate structural components, including bolted joints, and will provide shop support for in-house manufacturing and supplier issues. You will also be interfacing with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization and participating as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews. Additionally, you will be responsible for documenting technical data generated by the assigned project, consistent with engineering policies and procedures, and providing timely communications on significant issues or developments.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering and have experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS, and have experience in locomotive engineering and design. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in providing shop support for in-house manufacturing and supplier issues, as well as experience in interfacing with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization. The candidate should also have excellent communication and documentation skills and be able to work effectively in a team.
