Position Description: Apprentice Trainee.
We are looking for graduates who are from a Mechanical or Automotive background and have a keen interest in working with Finite Element Analysis and can bring in their knowledge and help to implement the same in the active projects within Volvo. This would also allow them to learn more about industrial application and how theory and calculations help build robust products that can be productionised as we go ahead.
As an Apprentice, you will work in all engineering phases, from advanced engineering to concept generation, detailed development, and industrialization. Tasks include Modelling, performing simulation, and making countermeasures to the design.
You will work globally with the Simulation Team, advanced engineering projects, and implementations for all Volvo Brands.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering /Automobile Engineering / Production / Industrial Engineering
- Strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals
- Basic understanding of various manufacturing processes, especially regarding plastics, composites, sheet metal, and porous materials
- Understanding Material behavior and mechanics is a must
- Past experience in automotive component development (either in industry or as part of an academic thesis) is a plus
- Experience in major CAE tools like ANSA, and NASTRAN is an added advantage
