The Engineering and Business Service Center (EBSC), Chennai, includes the NDT Department. 

To ensure NDT Evaluation and Quality of Towers and Blades manufactured in various manufacturers, this section is in charge.

Responsibilities

  • adherence to the ideals and culture of safety at Vestas
  • Delivery on time, in accordance with SLA, with zero errors, and prompt handling of customer concerns
  • Follow the NDT Process flow as agreed upon with no variation
  • Create/Update NC for all deviations, track and shut NC in accordance with the agreed-upon SLA.
  • Get the evaluators qualified and trained on the new Blade model
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities and start a QIP or SIP.
  • engage in internal and external audits and offer suggestions for PII revisions

Qualifications

  • Any of the following engineering degrees: diploma or bachelor’s in mechanical, manufacturing, production, or industrial
  • 4 to 8 years of experience working in the heavy engineering, oil and gas, wind, automotive, aerospace, and CADD services and consulting industries.
  • Exposure to welding qualifications is a plus.
  • Certified NDT UT Level 2 – ASNT / PCN / Equivalent


Competencies

  • good understanding of the production and welding processes for blades
  • the capacity to set up and operate NDT (UT) tools and pertinent analytical software
  • Conduct a hand-and-machine UT scan.
  • a mastery of English (Oral & Written)
  • Microsoft Office-skilled for reporting daily developments
  • Ability to operate in a time-constrained environment and complete tasks with quality
  • Ability to be a team player with strong practical skills and a methodical approach
