We are shaping the future of modern energy. The Switchgear and Cables team is part of Vestas Converter & Electrical Engineering Module in R&D organization Vestas Power Solutions. The team is an essential contributor in making the current and future wind turbines more efficient and cost effective by developing electrical components such as switchgears and cables. This is done by being responsible for development and maintenance of the components according to the full value chain requirements. The daily work will be within a broad network of stakeholders and electrical specialists so you can set the standard for tomorrows design. You will be part of the Global Switchgear and Cables team that is spread all through Denmark, India and Portugal.
Responsibilities
- Conceptual design and specification of High Voltage Equipment
- Create requirement specification for High Voltage Switchgears & Cables
- Conduct peer and technical reviews according to the design project model
- Supplier management and review of suppliers design
- Set targets for how to qualify components and create test verification procedures
- Approve suppliers tests with and write test- and design verification reports
- Approve test and validation of prototypes
- Provide technical support to strategic purchaser in evaluating supplier performance
- Participate in QA Audits at suppliers facilities & implementation of equipment into our turbine platform
Qualifications
- Minimum Master’s / Bachelor’s in Marine / Mechanical/Electrical Engineering / Service Engineering or similar
- Practical experience in HV equipment, design on HV power systems (Switchgear / Cable)
- Experienced in writing design specifications & verification reports
- Structured, open-minded, trusted, aspirational, communicative, self-motivated & robust
- Good at presenting technical material to peers and management
- Willing to travel (25-30 days in a year)
