The Opportunity: Associate III – Engineering Design

Mechanical Design Engineer:

Description:

Will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of custom material unit handling system, fixturing, and associated processes to enable the handling, assembly/disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle. Establishes standards across all operational processes. Serves as a technical expert on specialized projects or programs.

  • Technically execute engineering projects by developing it with AMAT-associated suppliers.
  • Interface with internal and external customers regarding mechanical issues for specific projects.
  • Implements concepts for a range of difficult product issues and solutions.
  • Specify, supervise the development of, design, or modify engineering layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of complex scope.
  • Generate product and test specifications.
  • Define / Create requirements for the material handling units which includes the architecture/concepts and validation.
  • Specify and perform engineering calculations & analysis of complex scopes like custom-designed parts and OEM selection.
  • Specify and review engineering documentation.
  • Sound Knowledge of Material Selection of metals and non-metals, Machining, Fabrication process, sheet metal, and post-processing operations.
  • Proficient in different manufacturing methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience in building the assemblies and troubleshooting the issues with form, fit, and function.
  • Thorough knowledge of GD&T is a must and an understanding of tolerance stack-up analysis will be an added advantage.
  • Proficient in using ISO & ASME Std. Knowledge of DIN Std. will be an added advantage.
  • Competency in UG NX or Pro-E/Creo is a must.
  • Good Presentation and Negotiation Skills.
