Diploma Mechanical / Automobile with 12-15 Years of experience or
BE Mechanical / Industrial / Process Engg with 3-5 Years of experience in Precision Automotive industry
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Evaluate, design (Design means measuring accuracy and documenting of inspection work) sampling plans and process control plans for lot acceptance and control processes to include Operator Certification.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Metrology laboratory’s quality systems per published / corporate standards and guideline. Periodically assess calibration results for like groups of equipment to determine if calibration or preventive maintenance schedules need to be adjusted.
- Experience on working with Zeiss CMM’s and Calypso programming
- Conduct QA compliance audits of products and processes.
- Investigate the root cause of non-conformances, corrective action/preventative action (CAPA), and complaints and develop correction, corrective action, and/or preventive action plans as required.
- Establish and maintain appropriate documentation as required for Quality Systems activities.
- Ensure that direct reports employ safe practices. Enforce safety and environmental policies and procedures. Recognize and reward safe behavior in others.
- Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.
- Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products by approved data.
- Maintain trend information on internal and complaint non-conformances. Support Operations in analyzing product lines to determine how or where, within the inspection process, the root cause of non-conformances or customer complaints exists.
- Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
- Control non-conforming database and material including weekly reporting.
- Maintain and create standard work instructions and APQP plans as tools to maintain consistent product quality.
- Use Green Belt level analysis tools and team building skills to lead improvements through team involvement.
- Develop, implement & maintain the Metrology laboratory’s quality systems per published / corporate standards & guidelines.
- Review prior product measurement or testing validity as required by ISO 9001:2015
- Interface with the operations team to explain out-of-tolerance conditions and findings.
- Responsible for yearly capital & revenue budgeting of the Quality department
- Maintain laboratory recognition/ accreditation.
Knowledge
- Experienced Quality Engineer with an engineering degree or Diploma in mechanical relevant experience.
- ISO auditor trained, experienced, or certified. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
- Green Belt trained with at least 3 projects completed.
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Statistics – advanced (ANOVA, DOE, MSA)
- Technical writing
