Role description
- 1) Design & CAD Modelling of Restraint parts (Seat belts, Airbags and Steering wheel) and Assemblies as per engineering guidelines and checklists.
- 2) Evaluate data received from supplier as per engineering deliverables and decide next action plan to meet milestones.
- 3) Creation and Management of product data structure in PLM and ensure BOM Quality.
- 4) To support development of Design Standards & Carryover Strategy in line with defined Technical Policy and Technology Roadmap and engineering for the projects in line with the standards.
- 5) Create Technical Proposals for New Concepts & resolution of Technical Issues or Design to meet attributes.
- 6) Support VMTL for project deliverables as per Gen3 milestones and deliverables.
Skills
- Software:- Catia V5R25 With good modelling skills and expert in best modelling practices
- Knowledge: General Construction, Materials & Technologies required, Regulations, Test Standards & Requirements that have to be met, Interface with other aggregates. Six Sigma Tools (DFMEA, DFM, DFA & DFS), GD&T, EPS and the NPI Process. Cost drivers. Working knowledge of PLM Systems, MINT3, RMDVV and other internal systems
- Engineering:- Completion of at least one Seat Belt, Steering wheel and Airbag design/development project experience from styling to launch of the product is mandatory. Restraint component design considering Regulatory and product requirements, Plastic manufacturing process (injection molding, 2K molding, Thermoforming…etc), Secondary process (Painting, chrome plating, IMD…etc), Soft touch process (IMG, Thermoforming, Slush molding..etc), Material selection (considering requirements, quality and cost), DV/PV validation.
- Regulatory requirements:- Safety Regulatory and component level certifications

- Experience in Durability model building using Hyper-mesh for Passenger cars & commercial Vehicles (Truck, Bus etc.,) in OEMS /TIER I Suppliers.
- Planning and executing Durability CAE projects, at component / Sub-assembly / full vehicle levels, within agreed boundaries (timelines, performance targets, etc.) for all of the following
- FE model assembly (Subsystems and Full vehicle)
- Stiffness prediction, Modal analysis, Dynamic stiffness, Structural FRF, Structure-Fluid interaction, Acoustic FRF, Panel-Element contribution, Optimization)
- Life Estimation
- Weight and performance optimization
- Report writing
- Evaluate design proposals, determine the performance gaps, risks and work towards meeting the requirements
- Interaction with other stakeholders working on the project (design & other CAE groups)
- Work closely with testing department for CAE-Test correlation.
Mandatory: –
