Job description:

  • Cockpit Engineer with experience in Cockpit or cockpit sub-part designing, like glove box center facia, floor console, etc. Should have fluency in working in Catia software for 3D as well 2 D modeling, which includes surface, solid modeling, 3D Annotation, and mechanism.
  • Should have Knowledge of plastic part design, manufacturing, and basic plastic Tooling Knowledge and should know.
  • Basic plastic row material.
  • Conduct DFMEA and DVP reviews and prepare documents for sign-off.
  • Talk to all departments, collect and organize feedback sessions with styling.
  • Should have the skill to collect and make a good database for benchmarking and internal data.
  • Should have good interaction skills and participate in internal review as well as external review.
  • Conduct detailed Design and CAD reviews with supplier make and track the current model issues through MINTS. Incorporate feedback through JDP, MINTS, IQS, etc., in design. facilitate the CAE, CFD, etc. review and data transfer

Key deliverables:

  1. Developing and monitoring design concepts, and master sections along with Engg supplier
  2. Ensure all regulatory requirements like HFI, Interior fittings, etc implemented in concepts and Product Engg
  3. Fitment trail of proto, parts, mock-up to be done with ERC proto shop along with Engg or Manufacturing supplier
  4. Analyse root cause of build issues following 4D & 8D process and Build support
  5. Visit and review Engg and Manufacturing suppliers to drive design and Engg-related decisions
  6. Interaction with CAE, Crash, NVH, and CFD team and provide Engg input and interpret analysis to strengthen Engg
  7. Line build support and TS interaction to have smooth and easy part, assembly, and sub-assembly of cockpit and console assembly online
  8. Ensure Engg input to supplier and internal DVA team and analyze and interpret DVA to convert it into Engg solution to improve design
  9. Sliding & Fixed armrest design with latch, hinge mechanism
  10. Along with PLM, TCuA hands-on Experience will be preferred.

Job Responsibility:

  • Interact with styling and other departments and deliver feedback.
  • Attend war-room meetings and report to the Chief Engineer on the status of milestones.
  • Work with the VI team for build plans (Alpha, Beta, PO, PP) Release all Cockpit parts in the system to facilitate builds.
  • Attend and take part in the Tool kick-off process.
  • Witness build events, validation events, vehicle trials, and jury evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Identify issues, suggest countermeasures, and implement them in Design.
  • Work on Quality improvement and ICR-related activities on current and future products.
  • Release parts in the PLM system.
  • Should have fluency in working in Catia software for 3D as well as 2D modeling, which includes surface, solid modeling, 3D Annotation, and mechanism.
  • He should have working experience in the PLM system.
  • Should have good Communication, and interaction skills to participate in internal review as well as external review.
