Position – Design Engineer

Job description
Would be a part of the global engineering team and will be working with the global Order Engineering team on regular orders pertaining to products – Pumps, Valves, and SSHE (Scraped Surface Heat exchanger). Should be flexible on working on different products.
Should be open to working on a different type of orders as needed. The expectation is to have a quick turnaround time for any given order with the highest quality metrics for deliverables and without compromising on On-Time Delivery (OTD) time. Looking for candidates having good hands-on expertise on CAD tools. Should be a good team player and need to be focused, result-oriented and self-motivated.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Shall be working closely with the global order engineering team and assisting them in executing the orders and CAD support
- Should have complete knowledge on life-cycle engineering of any product from order booking to product shipment
- Shall be responsible for executing the configurable orders and engineered orders using Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, and SAP
- Quality metrics, on-time delivery, and zero scrap losses of the orders are of utmost priority
- To be a good team player, quick learner, self-motivated and flexible with the business needs
- Focused on continuous improvement like eliminating the wastages, creating documents related to guidelines/procedure
- Should be able to prioritize assignments, plan, maintaining the error logs, trackers, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION
- B.E/B.Tech. in Mechanical/Industrial/Automotive with 8-10 Years’ experience
- Should be expert in working on Autodesk Inventor and Autocad CAD tools
- Prior knowledge and working on Autodesk Vault and SAP/ERP are more preferred
- Good in complex drawing understanding, symbols, and visualizing the parts
- Conceptualizing the new ideas and putting them into CAD models and drawings
- Knowledge on Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) as per ASME Y14.5 2009/18 and Tolerance stack-up analysis

Position – FEA Engineer

Job description
Responsible for undertaking finite element analysis (FEA) engineering activities for Centrifugal pumps, Positive displacement pumps, Valves, and other rotating machines. Analyze results and provide technical solutions and conduct feasibility studies.
The primary duty is to undertake a defined range of engineering integrity analysis in line with all relevant processes and quality requirements. You are required to liaise with different departments and disciplines in order to ensure an effective & productive outcome while continually maintaining high quality & standards. You will drive engineering design integrity and compliance, quality, and safety to maximize customer specification. The daily role includes, but not limited to, mechanical design calculations (hand calculations and in-house proprietary programs), computational analysis, and associated CAD modeling/modification interpreting design criteria to apply boundary conditions and interpreting and presenting outputs. Provide technical support and direction for manufacture, assembly, supplier, and client in relation to product compliance and integrity.
Working in a collaborative manner to satisfy the needs of the project and the internal and external customers is essential.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform static or dynamic stress analysis of the component or equipment like a centrifugal pump, rotary lobe pump, Screw pump, Valves, valve actuators due to pressure, thermal, and other external loadings.
- Conduct vibration analysis, determining natural frequency.
- Support engineering activities in New product development and improvement initiatives with calculations and FEA analysis.
- Exposure to rigid frame analysis or skid analysis as per code.
- Should have experience in Analysing rotor dynamic behavior (Rotodynamic analysis ), Critical speed analysis with respect to torsional and lateral
- Analyze interaction with multiple parts in the assembly – prime movers, springs, couplings, joints. Simulation of the working environment
- Analyze and optimize upon engineering material selection for the component.
- Should have experience in Nonlinear FEA analysis of elastomers like gasket and o ring
- Thermal analysis using FEA
- Modeling and analysis of Preloading Bolts in the Structural Connection
- Translate actual problem to Finite Element Analysis (FEA) model, interpret analysis results and select the best solution
- Interpret analysis results and convert them to design suggestions.
- Provide weight reduction suggestions for existing components after carrying out FEA analysis
- Undertake the full range of Mechanical Engineering Design tasks under supervision including, but not limited to, finite element analysis including baseplate design analysis, pressure boundary design analysis, and pipework design analysis across a number of different pump types. Design Calculations to Standards and Engineering Plans, FMEA, Risk Assessment, DFMA, VE, relevant product and market CODE / Standards compliance (e.g., ASME).
- Helping team to achieve project deadlines, delivered with desired quality, cost, and efficiency.
- Assist with standardization of products, process, tools, and calculations, etc., to reduce time/risk
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- 2D and 3D CAE skills required; Solid Works, AutoCAD, Ansys Mechanical, PV Lite, etc.
- Demonstrated expertise in Finite Element and Modal analysis at both single component and assembly analysis levels. Specific professional experience with Ansys strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret Drawings, Design concepts/layouts, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to develop and present analysis reports and recommend design changes
- Ability to do Design calculations to support project execution.
- A clear understanding of Mechanical Integrity, life, material selections, and wear applicable to SPX product portfolio.
- Pump and valve design experience for the food and beverage industry a plus, but not required.
- Project Planning and Execution: Maintain focus on priorities. Maintain flexibility as priorities change. Be aware of short timelines from start to finish of the project.
- Utilize software programs such as (but not limited to) MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint Experience in Pumps and valves.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BE/MTech in Mechanical Engineering with related 5 – 8 years of professional experience.
- Experience in CAE Ansys Mechanical.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling, Inventor / Solid works preferred.
Position – R&D Engineer – Fluid Processing

Job description
This strategic position is responsible for the conception and development of fluid process equipment technologies applicable to all SPX FLOW relevant products. The incumbent will lead the research projects themselves and support other R&D leads in their work. Strategic responsibilities will include awareness of, and company guidance on, developing and emerging technologies in processing and process equipment including mixing, high- and low-pressure fluid pumping and control, heat transfer, etc.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Champion an innovation-oriented, data-driven decision-making culture.
- Research Project Lead for specific innovation projects. Deliverables will include Stage-Gate Reports and Final Research Reports that allow clean entry into the SPX FLOW New Product Development process.
- Execute R&D projects in accordance with an established R&D process.
- Develop and document fluid processing design rules, including the use of empirically/experimentally verified CFD and Fluid-Structure Interaction modeling.
- Perform CFD simulations to verify research hypotheses or understand the fundamental behavior of existing design solutions.
- Identify, qualify and implement new and emerging design technologies.
- Continuously benchmark industry peers and look for the best approaches relating to the design and manufacture of industrial processes and mechanical equipment.
- Engage with academic partners to foster and maintain SPX FLOW technological leadership.
- Engage with government agencies (NSF, DoE, etc.) in pursuit of R&D funding.
- Publication and presentation of Technical Papers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Demonstrated experience in process design, experimentation, CFD.
- Demonstrated experience managing and prioritizing concurrent projects with diverse stakeholders.
