Position – Cost Value Engineering Expert

Your new role – challenging and future-oriented

  • The tactical responsibilities include improvement of competitiveness and profitability of SE Industrial Application business through state-of-the-art Cost and Value Engineering methods and expertise e.g. TcPCM Should Costing, MLPP, CBD. You achieve cost transparency for 3rd party scopes.
  • The strategic responsibilities include supporting the overall Design-to-Cost DTC or R&D Product Development Process (PDP) to ensure new products are designed at efficient cost while meeting quality targets. Activities include efficiency project creation and report management, innovation team leadership, design for manufacturing methodology leadership, and voice of the customer analysis.
  • Deliver should-cost analysis and full supplier offer willingness to find most driven one
  • Build and collect new cost-out ideas for Industrial Application portfolio, participating in multi-functional WS.
  • Ensure that product CVE initiatives/measures are being accurately input and supervised in the relevant product cost tracking software (PRIOneer).
  • Support proposals teams to ensure all relevant cost measures not fully mature are being considered if appropriate, to guarantee the most efficient solutions.
  • Facilitating and participating in meetings at all levels of management up to and including the executive leadership team

  • BS in Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Petroleum.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as Application Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Process Engineer, Design Engineer, Product Engineer, or similar.
  • Self-driven, proactivity and willing to do the extra-mile
  • Experience with turbomachinery or related rotating equipment and associated auxiliary systems is helpful
  • Extensive proven understanding of how design, technical, automation, sourcing, and logistics decisions affect the cost and/or schedule.
  • MS Office Suite proficiency
  • Proven knowledge within the fields of State-of-the-art Design to Value, DtC, Customer Value und Cost-Analysis

The Proposal Engineer leads, develops and optimizes all proposal related activities and is the interface to operations. The PE steers the technical negotiations with the customer.

  • Proposal Lead and lead for all technical aspects, Makes (initial) compressor selection & defines train configuration
  • Leads Risk & Opportunity Assessment where required
  • Responsibility for Scope of supply, Commenting project requisition (RFQ)
  • Drive supply chain management (vendor quote)
  • Writes technical inquiry specification for buy out items (e.g. driver, gear box)
  • Evaluates & communicates with selected vendors (in close partnership with the Project Procurement Manager)
  • Acquire and drive project cost estimates & delivery, Compiles’ proposal incl. prices
  • Cross-check pricing strategy vs. offered scope, Supports Bid and LoA decisions
  • Responsible for TLoA/CP LoA, interface to Operations and procurement
  • Supports Project closing with technical expertise

  • B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering with 10 to 15 years experience.
  • Proposal Engineering experience in Reciprocating/Turbo Compressors.
  • Leads bid and proposal activities, and all technical aspects
  • Concentrates on scope, spec review, and cost/price working
  • Owns the technical negotiations with the customer
  • Good interpersonal skills.
