Job description

  • Provides leadership and direction to the group in technical as well as project execution aspects
  • Strong design expertise on new design or modify existing designs. Provide inputs to design engineers via design reviews and mentorship. Guide Engineers on performing design analysis, design documentation, working with suppliers, and introduction of products into manufacturing. These designs will be both Mechanical and electronics in nature
  • Demonstrate domain expertise with sheet metal, die casting, formed and/or molded parts, extrusions, and other mechanical assemblies. Comfortable with sourcing and qualifying new parts, also capable of performing capital and piece estimation on new products
  • Perform verification analysis by empirically testing products in the area of shock and vibration. Schedule execute, interpret results and verify mechanical compliance to standards
  • Responsible for contributing mechanical elements of project scheduling
  • Provides leadership to the ME team, be responsible for recruitment, onboarding, and people development. Identifies and develops high potential employees, technical talent, and future leaders for ES and RA.
  • Leads strategy development, business process development, and critical issue closure across technical disciplines for local organizational functions

  • Proactively manages relationships with BU leadership to support projects and understand upcoming needs, issues, gaps, etc. Provides updates to critical issues, upcoming requirements, etc. to BU engineering leads.
  • Cultivate networks with people across a variety of functions and locations within the organization
  • Develops, manages, and distributes Key Process Indicators (KPI’s) for projects, programs, and provides scorecards for upper management.
  • Responsible for the plan and schedule for projects which are of significant and strategic importance to the corporation.

Qualifications

  • B. E. Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 12+ years’ experience in the Design/Manufacturing/Development Engineering Organization, preferably in an electronics manufacturing organization.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills in English and good presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to frame and manage effectively a large quantity of ambiguous or complex work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required. LSS and/or PMP certification is a plus.
  • Experience with Shock and Vibration including non-linear dynamics and non-linear analysis is desirable
  • Familiarity with Rockwell Automation products is a plus.
  • Travel Requirements Available to regularly travel globally for business meetings
