Desired Candidate Profile:                       

• Should have mechanical engineering knowledge in areas like machine design, failure theories, the strength of materials and engineering mechanics, etc.
• Should have an understanding of the product design process.  
• Must have strong analytical skills.             
• Exposure to CAD is an added advantage.               
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

Position – Design Engineer I

Job description

Position Summary:

A dynamic person with 2 to 4 years of experience in Industrial Power Transmission. The candidate would be expected to understand, create, and draw the Industrial gearbox components and accessories in SolidWorks. Good in reading and developing Casting/Forging models and detailed drawings. The candidate should be resourceful in absence of missing data and seek/look for avenues to get them. Should have experience of arriving to design data through hand calculations.

Major Responsibilities:  This position will include the following activities:

• Creating intricate parts, assemblies, and mechanical drawings in Solidworks.
• Concept finalization & design various mechanical components in Solidworks
• Perform various engineering calculations i.e. Bearings, shafts, Sealing system, Key and Keyways, Tolerance stack-up analysis, Rating Calculations etc.
• Create documents related to project such as project plan, DFMEA, DVP&R, Risk analysis etc.
• Understanding of standards (e.g., ISO, DIN. AGMA).
• Co-ordinate with internal and external stakeholder for having relevant data and information.
• Investigate and solve technical problems arising in design/engineering, manufacturing and quality.
• Follow Regal Rexnord Ethics and Safety Programs.
• Perform other assignments related to enabling technology per business needs.

Required Education / Experience:

• Graduate (BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech ) in Mechanical Engineering from reputed institute with min 70% (8 CGPA) marks.
• 2 to 4 Years’ of experience in Mechanical Engineering domain. Must have strong working knowledge and experience with industrial gear box, Couplings, Pumps and industrial components.
• Knowledge of Geometric dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Knowledge of system like DDM, Oracle & SAP will added advantage.
• Acumen for design decisions and ability to give attention to details.
• Experience of delivering good quality drawings on time.
• Should be expert in completing own tasks on time and help the team members at the same time
• Experience in CAD software (SolidWorks/Creo/Solid Edge/AutoCAD – Any of these).
• Competent in Microsoft computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Competencies / Skills:

• Good in planning, time management and execution
• Exposure to Manufacturing processes like casting, forging, sheet metals, machining processes / Assembly processes etc.
• Excellent Communication Skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, Team player & collaborative.
• Technically sound and self-motivated.
