Position – Foreign Trade Analyst

Job decription
- Responsibilities include review of parts specifications, bills of materials, descriptions, and external web sites to categorize Lam Materials into categories that have been previously defined by Foreign Trade. These categories correspond to tariff classifications in countries where Lam does business
- Reviewing individual parts & Harmonized Tariff Schedule(HTS) classification for different kind of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics items (semiconductor Industry)
- Designating a category to each respective part,
- Sending designations for parts to Foreign Trade on a weekly basis,
- Engaging Foreign Trade on periodic review to align on categorizations, and
- Alerting Foreign Trade of parts that do not conform to any existing designations
- Foreign Trade will provide initial instruction on job expectations and ongoing feedback on how to interpret the categories for which Lam Materials will be assigned.
- Import/Export Customs entry audit for all regions(US, Europe, Asia)
- Knowledge on ECCN(Export Control Classification Number)
- Knowledge on US Government regulations on all aspects of International Import/Export Trade
- Ensures legal compliance and provides import/export administration and control within government rules and regulations, including appropriate licensing for shipments. Reviews contracts for required clauses and identifies omissions. Interfaces with internal and external customers, foreign order administration, freight forwarders, customs officers and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of shipment. Selects carrier/forwarder for shipment of products and prepares documents for freight forwarders.
Qualification
- Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years of Experience
- Minimum 3-4 years of Experience in HTS/ECCN Product Classification
- Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Certification in Foreign trade/Trade Compliance/Logistics.
- Technical knowledge of semiconductor or comparable industries, including familiarity with Bills of Materials
- Familiarity with reading technical specifications, engineering drawing, datasheets
- Good communication skills
