Your Job

The Welding / Production Engineer -Weld Shop will support the production team. The Production team is working closely with the Planning Team, Project Management, Quality, EH&S, and stores to deliver on-time products. The team supports the manufacturing with all safety & quality measures. The successful candidate would be part of the production team in an exciting and fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do

  • Supervise/coordinate production efforts that drive improvement in all associated work processes affected EHS, compliance, reliability, quality, production, and costs.
  • Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively eliminate hazards.
  • Monitor product quality and provide direction to crew members to maximize efficiency.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and solving production issues.
  • Ensure best practices are followed for the minimization of waste at machine centers.
  • Address key issues and concerns and interact with employees from other departments to ensure quality, on-time production.
  • Planned, assigned and directed work for all production employees; appraised performance and provided feedback as needed; assisted in resolving complaints; held employees accountable as needed; communicated issues and results daily.
  • Facilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution.
  • Design and develop welding procedures and specifications for various projects and applications.
  • Select and evaluate the appropriate welding equipment, materials, and methods for each project.
  • Supervise and coordinate the welding activities of welders, technicians, and other staff.
  • Inspect and test the welded components and structures to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any welding issues or problems that may arise.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to the welding personnel and clients.
  • Conduct research and analysis on the latest welding trends and innovations.
  • Prepare and maintain the welding documentation and reports.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Diploma / Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years experience leading an engineering team in various areas like weld/fabrication shop experience, and sheet metal fabrication work in the oil and gas industries.
  • Willing and able to work any assigned shift schedule, which may include day, night, weekend, and holiday work hours.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PC-based production reporting systems applications.

  • Proven experience as a welding engineer or a similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of welding principles, methods, and standards.
  • Proficient in using various welding equipment and tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and quality orientation.
  • Adhere to safety and QMS .
  • Analytical and Quantitative approach to problem-solving.
  • Perform Problem identification, resolution, loss reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Refer to ASME/UN/ISO standards.
  • Adherence to 5S
  • Good knowledge of weld symbols.
  • Should have worked & knowledge about Stainless Steel material.
  • Maintain quality and safety in shop floor to avoid deviation
  • Detail Drawing Study prior to execution in the shop floor.
  • AWS certification (Preferred)
  • Knowledge about WPS/PQR/WPQ/Weld book/Weld map.
  • ASNT NDE Level-II (Preferred)
  • Working experience with various industries.
  • Experience with weld shop, and sheet metal fabrication.
