Job description
- Manages, in close coordination with Industrial Director, other global and local Management Team members, the portfolio of industrial projects (strategic, development, sustenance, safety)
- Manages projects from feasibility studies to implementation. Ensures CER (Capex Expenditure Request) dossiers are developed according to Imerys protocols and engineering standards.
- Defines project execution strategy and contracts with external engineering companies in close coordination with Purchasing Center of Excellence.
- Monitors engineering development
- Brings engineering expertise when needed, and ensure a safe design.
- Checks compliance to established procedures or protocols, and challenges soundness of various assumptions
- Manages and coordinate technical project teams and prepare steering committee, follow the construction on-site with a strong focus on EHS
- Check engineering to minimize risks and maximize future results
- Ensuring efficient project control and reporting, incl. financial control, and taking corrective actions
- Support site maintenance/small projects engineers
- Key interactions: Ensures tight coordination with BA Industrial VP, Hub Operations Directors, Industrial and Purchasing Imerys Center of Excellence
Qualifications
- Professional engineer with minimum 15/20 years’ experience in engineering, construction and project management in fields similar to Imerys’ (heavy process industry, ideally continuous operations, handling and physical treatment of minerals)
- Strong expertise and experience in large industrial project Management (>10M€)
- Deep understanding of the Business Group processes and products
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of contract law and procedures, the forms of engineering contract and procurement strategies.
- Experienced in designing clean trouble-free plants, caring for details, knowledgeable in dust control, gas and water treatments
- Field production experience valuable
- Continuous Improvement mindset
- Open-minded, experience in multi-cultural environments
- Fluent English compulsory, any other language skills appreciated
- Bachelors’ Degree- Engineering or equivalent ( preferably a Mechanical Engineer).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is must
- Problem solving / results-oriented
- Knowledgeable in engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Works)
- Excellent oral and written communication – internal/external contacts
- Project Control and Reporting (EHS, Schedule, and Cost)
- Negotiation and arbitration
