Position – Mech Design Engr II

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in a global NPI team as a team member with significant responsibilities and ownership of mechanical design. The responsibilities include mechanical packaging design and development, fixture design and development, building prototypes, testing and validation of products etc. The candidate will be working along with various teams such as simulation, drafting, evaluation, manufacturing, marketing, supply chain etc during the product development. Additional responsibilities include technical report generation, documentation and progress reporting. It is also expected that the candidate would develop technical expertise in the selected product line, develop proposals for growth ideas and work for improving the product line. The candidate will work closely with design and manufacturing team in US and China.

QUALIFICATION:

  • B.E/ B.Tech/ M.E/ M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-3 years of experience

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Sound knowledge in mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Expertise in 3D CAD modeling and detailing using Pro-Engineer
  • Expertise in creating quality part drawings using GD&Ts and good knowledge in stake up tolerance analysis.
  • Have good understanding on various manufacturing processes like plastic injection molding, machining, casting, sheet metal process, joining methodologies (welding, brazing, soldering) and encapsulation methodologies
  • Good knowledge about materials such as plastics, metals, plating, adhesive etc.
  • Mechanical product design for packaging with electronic components, connector, wiring, seals etc to form a product by meeting customer requirements
  • Exposure in developing DFMEA, PFMEA , control plan and process flow chart
  • Exposure to handle engineering change request (ECR) and engineering change order (ECO)
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Added Advantage Skills
  • Exposure to Six Sigma methodology and statistical analysis
  • Conceptualize the product and translate the requirements into CTQs for design
  • Predict and quantify technical risks in the projects
  • Experience on full design life cycle projects
  • Knowledge in Pressure and force sensing technology
